"The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are really friendly and efficient but its the food. I had the fishcakes which I had had previously on my last visit,they were delicious This time they were not nice at all. The coating was chewey and had a burnt aftertaste which made them hard to cut up. The fishcakes were one of the more expensive meals. It was my second visit and seems like the standards are slipping already and the food is not consistent...Shame."

I recently visited the Duke of Wellington with my two young kids and had a fantastic experience. The food was really good, and the two-course meal cost us £50, which was reasonable for the quality. I opted for the beef red wine lasagne which were cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a pleasant meal. The Duke of Wellington is a great spot for a satisfying pub dinner. Highly recommended!
