"Where can the current menu be found ? Update 6/12/23 Called in for lunch yesterday around 13.30 had trouble finding a parking space, luckily a couple who were shopping across the road, not from the Red Lion went back to their car and vacated the space for us to pull into. That was one hurdle over, walked into the pub expecting it to be packed solid due to the volume of vehicles in the car park only to find a handful of locals at the bar. Tables and chairs were plentiful, but no sign of any food about, being eaten or otherwise, no sign of cutlery, condiments or anything else that implied food was for sale. Previous reveuwee’s state nice food and give high scores , fail to understand this. To all intense and purposes this was a pub and nothing else even though there was a sandwich board at the roadside,needless to say we left and had a nice all day English Breakfast at The Cabin B o C. So really you did us a favour."

"Terrible experience here very unfriendly and unprofessional manager/owner. If you have kids under 16 you’re segregated (lunchtime) into a shoddy back room with no atmosphere. When we were overheard discussing this he literally chucked us out the pub!! I know if I’d read this I’d think they must have behaved awfully, but we are a normal family who were only discussing this situation. Never experienced this type of aggression before and never been segregated in a pub with a 12 and 14 year old the whole pub was for eating not just this back room. Landed up at the Queen Victoria and had a delicious lunch and they couldn’t have been more welcoming. So from our experience if you have kids avoid this pub at all costs, my children didn’t need to experience his rude and quite frankly nasty manner he should really advertise this pub as adults only if that’s what he clearly wants."

"Given the recent move into a second lock down we decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway. One that hopefully would closely mirror a meal if were were able to go to a restaurant/fine pub to eat. I can honestly say that the food we ordered was fabulous. We ordered both types of meat pies (with veg, chips or mash gravy) , the Lasagne with salad and chips plus the desserts. Service was speedy, safe and friendly. The food was very well packed, still pipping hot by the time I got home and was to the same standard as if we had ate in at the White hart. Brilliant! Fed up with lockdown? Then go order a meal from this place you won't be disappointed. Plus hopefully, we can keep them in business during these dreadful most difficult times."

"I note that this place once had an entirely separate vegan menu, however sadly this is no longer the case. It has about 3-4 vegan options on it's normal menu, just enough to give some sort of choice. If you're looking for somewhere to eat with omni friends or family then this is a fair enough option food wise. They have 1 vegan starter and 2 vegan desserts. Despite the limited choice what I did have was very tasty. Decor and setting wise it is very nice, located next to the river crouch. I note the review from a couple of days ago about the place having gone downhill, I visited on the 16th of August and it couldn't have been any further from that reviewers experience, I found it a well run place, looks like it may be hit and miss. "Been here before and food was terrible, dry, overcooked, burnt, cold and not very appetising. A year later we thought we’d give it a chance and see if it had improved. Unfortunately or fortunately we didn’t get to find out. Service is absolutely abysmal. Booked a table online, no problem. When we arrived, went to the bar and asked where our table was. Advised that the waitress puts names on reserved tables and had to find it ourselves. Name not on any table, obviously. Stood around in dining area waiting for service or help but nothing. Chef saw us from kitchen and so did gormless waiter but not one of them came out to ask why we were waiting for a table or not being served. Rude. Actually funny that a table for 6 was reserved in the name of lesa, if that’s a name and reckoned it was for us, even though that’s not close, morons. No surprise, we left and won’t return. How on earth does your business function? The brewery needs to know. All that will happen is the manager will say to contact him etc to discuss it further. Nothing needs to be discussed further, my review stands. I look forward to your generic response"
