Stunning period decor tastefully reinvented, food is the best in a 50 mile radius. Service second to none with American levels of customer service and attention to detail. We never hesitate to recommend to anyone.

First time we visited this beautiful pub ,the bar staff were very friendly and extremely helpful ,especially when we couldn't get a taxi home ,they went the extra mile to ensure we got home. We will be visiting again very soon .Thank you xxx Simone Marcus

We have just stayed at Forest Lodge and have been very impressed. The staff are lovely, the room was nice and the food superb. It was a convenient stay for a foraging course I was due to attend nearby which was sadly cancelled. I look forward to returning in the future. Visualizza piatti

If you're in the area, you must pay a visit. We had lunch in the bar. The food was excellent along with the service. The bar was very traditional, but when you looked closer, it became apparent that everything was immaculate. The staff obviously take pride in the place.

I visited for the first time in 2023, and as always, it was perfect! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and I stayed in my usual room, even though I only come here 3-4 times a year. The food is excellent, and the rooms are always very clean and well-presented. The staff is polite and attentive. I highly recommend this place!

This charming old lodge is filled with period features and is exceptionally well-maintained. The food was delicious; I enjoyed lunch, dinner, and breakfast there. It offers the best selection of food in the area. The rooms were clean, quiet, and provided a good night's sleep. The staff were excellent—professional and polite. I would definitely stay here again. I didn't have a room like a local, but I decided to visit for Sunday lunch again. Wow, I was truly amazed by the new starter: breaded belly pork with a Thai curry-style dressing. It was outstanding! For the main course, I had the lamb Sunday dinner, which was also exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was first-class, delivered with a friendly smile.

A beautiful hotel that was spotless. There is ample car parking. The bar is cosy serving a variety of beers, ciders, soft drinks, shorts and cocktails. We had a double room at the hotel and it was very comfortable with tea and coffee available. The room was beautifully decorated. The bathroom had a decent shower over the bath and complimentary toiletries. We had an evening meal and breakfast and could not fault either of them. The food was fresh and hot and very tasty. This is a popular place so book a table even if you are a guest at the hotel. Absolutely cannot fault it..from check in to check out an A1 service and as in we just walked in on the off chance they had a spare room going for us as we had not book,this is an an amazing hidden gem. Delightfull welcome,an airy clean room with ample storage for clothes ect along with a perfect ample little ensuite shower room.The greatest food for all tastes in the evening,accompanied with full hot and cold breakfast,yoghurt, fruit,cereal and juices round off this excellent hotel.Wonderfully placed,one way at top of the little high street with quaint little tearoom's,small shops,bakery to a very stocked little convenient supermarket it's a delight to be there,the other way into the forest...
