"I had a wonderful celebrity dinner tonight. the restaurant is nice and cozy inside, with tables well spread. there are real white table clothing that feels just that something more special. for each cursor there was a 3-course menu for £34 with about 5 choices. the smoked salmon starter was delicious and I understand that the cheese cake was also very delicious! we had the fish and beef main and both were a good portion size and delicious. dessert was also pleasant. with our coffee, which was a nice note, we got beautiful little brotbiscuits. I received a beautiful birthday card in the restaurant, which was a very beautiful geste! the waitresses were all beautiful and the service was good. we hope to go back to try out their champagne breakfast sometime! would recommend a nice, well-priced meal in a beautiful place."

"Fantastic Hidden little gem blink and you'll miss it ....so glad I didn't blink . We decided to have a full breakfast to set us up for the day ....don't be fooled by the little kitchens name ....the potions are massive , to partners delight , the pancakes are delicious , the food was excellent with a polite friendly service , taje away service ....the scones and cakes are so scrumptious we took a take away too Such welcoming friendly staff Harvey being a team player at such a young age lovely little boy . The owner came and had a chat and told us that the sausages are made not brought ...again superb ... Plates left clean The lady who served us went above and beyond with such a friendly personality anyone could get along with .she's a credit to the place . We will definitely go back even though from northants ....it's worth it xx prices are so reasonable. 5* and I've tried many tea room and cafes .... Book up as it gets busy ....that tells you just how good it is....you won't be disappointed"

"We all enjoyed loaded fries, burgers and kebabs. Libby our waitress was brilliant!!! 10* Instead of saying that there was no custard, someone run over the shop and got some.... "When we were shown to our table, it was located on the first floor, which may be a challenge for some guests. However, our table was beautifully set with a clean tablecloth. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself was tastefully modern, well-lit, and meticulously clean, with staff who clearly took pride in their establishment, as evidenced by their regular cleaning during our visit. It was refreshing to see they served beer on tap—many Indian restaurants these days seem to be alcohol-free. The menu was beautifully presented and featured an interesting variety of dishes beyond the usual offerings found in Indian restaurants. Our appetizers were served on well-prepared dishes and were absolutely delicious. The main course was divine, and I must say, this is probably the best Indian restaurant I have ever visited, and surprisingly, it was not expensive at all. If you find yourself in the Belper area and looking for a great dinner, you absolutely must try Elaichi. I know you won’t be disappointed! Oh, and they offer takeout as well."

"I was really looking forward to dining here after reading great reviews but, although a nice evening was had, we left feeling slightly disappointed. The staff were friendly and nothing was any trouble. They were attentive and prompt with our meal. We had the 5 course tasting menu £45 and took our own wine as it is a BYOB restaurant. The venison was an outstanding dish! Really wonderful meat and cooked and seasoned beautifully. Bread (which is classed as a course) and the soup were nice but not very memorable. The apple tart tartan was served stone cold. The pastry was hard as nails and would of benefited from being warmed up a bit. The smokey fudge was not at all smokey. None of the menus flavours of any of the dishes were punchy. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot and had left over decorations and pin nails still in the walls near their rather unimpressive bookcase. All looked a bit tired and in need of a bit of a re-paint. I really hate writing this as I feel I sound a right snob but the place really needs some nice linen. There I said it! For a £45 tasting menu I would expect a proper linen napkin and the tea towel that the servers delivered our plates to us was tatty and I 've seen cleaner ones.... The toilets had no hand towels and the toilet in the pub we went to beforehand was more pleasant than here. This is a lovely place with very nice staff but with nothing special about it 's visit.
