Grand Café Le Pontié

We called here for a drink and to people watch on an extremely hot day. The outside tables had plenty of shade and the service was very good.

Love the quotes around the walls in this cafe. Lots of comfy seating, great choice of all kinds of drinks and ice creams, but not really a place to eat. Coffee hyper strong !

Installed at the back of the terrace without having touched the very sticky tables, even the glasses and napkins stuck to the table : Average service, no salt, 2 small carafes of water for a table of 7,.... The dishes were good

Restaurant and staff, very friendly. On the other hand, the kitchen forgot to serve side dishes. We waited 10 minutes for the runner to come and serve us our dishes placed on the torpedo boat. They exchanged the dishes for us without any problem. To try again on a future visit. Visualizza piatti

Food was okay and on the expensive side. The plus points are location on a Saturday night as there are free concerts on the square and the waiters work really hard to get everything just right. It's a piece of old school France that seems to be disappearing. The wine list is heavy on the reds.

Shaded terrace as well as places inside. Friendly enough staff with some English, menu in French. The tartar de boeuf was with salad, well nobody outside France would call this a salad, but when in Rome. Prices are high; simple glass of beer 6,20 and a glass of Chardonnay was 11 euros!!! Would not recommend this restaurant

I've left it a few hours but I must post. today we visited the Pontie in Albi. we waited 20 minutes before going to find a waiter to place our hot chocolate order. After 10 minutes the waiter appeared and told us he could not serve us and that we are BANNED due to my previous review on waiting to be served I posted in the summer where we waited for over 1hr. the manager rather than reply to the post with an apology or sort out the problem decided to ban us instead. Really surely reviews are there for constructed criticism and not for punishing those who have genuine cause to complain. Not a good business plan. SHAME ON YOU MANAGEMENT Visualizza piatti
