"Maybe 3 years since we’ve been still meh. Lobster ravioli well cooked, well seasoned m, sauce a bit thin. Mushroom fettuccine very good. Starters mixed. Meatballs, humus decent, mackerel and pickled veg didn’t work, nothing to balance the tart flavours of the veg. Deserts a step down or two from a Gu pudding in the supermarket. Sticky toffee pudding and the plums were fine but made without any love, care or attention. What will stop us returning any time soon was the service. Trying to catch someone’s eye like a teenager at a disco to get any attention isn’t fun at the best of times. When you pay £320 for 6 which includes three children and an octogenarian who had one glass of wine, it’s frustrating at best but rude and showed a lack of training. It’s just . . . Meh. But not cheap meh"

First time I’ve been to the Didsbury one. Usually a regular in Cheadle Hulme. The staff were very friendly and the meals were amazing. Definitely will be visiting again

Just Brillant amazing pizzas and drinks. The mocktails are perfect and really make the non-alcohol lovers feel involved because of the additional care put into the drinks. Service is mid and could do with some additional staffing but altogether a positive and enjoyable evening

Food was OK. Small portions. January deal confusing in the extreme It is not 50% off . Tip.is calculated on full price The bill is presented in a manner that you can make any sense of it We paid over £90 for our meal at 50% deduction and free birthday drinks I certainly will not be returning for what was mediocre fare

Group of 7 adults and 2 teenagers on a Saturday night. We had to pay a £10pp deposit up front which I understand. The restaurant was bouncing and the staff were run off their feet but James did a fantastic job looking after us. Drinks were a bit slow coming but the food was really good and the atmosphere was great. Everybody agreed that it was a brilliant evening and the restaurant was perfect for it!

Nice venue. Great staff, but ridiculously priced drinks. We went for a quick catch up lunch, didn't want much to eat, so shared a £19.99 platter. Our bill was £50 as we had 3 waters and 2 coffees also. I had had a similarly overpriced meal in the evening. £35 for a bottle of red wine. It's a nice place with a great vibe and lovely staff, but the price of liquid refreshments has really put me off going again!

This place has been around for a long time now and while other establishments come and go, Gusto still manages to serve up excellent food, delicious wines and amazing cocktails. AND the service (from many long-serving staff) continues to be brilliant. The waiting and bar team are all really friendly and the food is generally excellent and it’s reliable. Whether it’s a midweek early dinner (tea) or lunch, a Sunday roast or a celebration meal, Gusto has you covered. Long may it continue Visualizza piatti

Nicely presented restaurant in Didsbury Village, very welcoming staff, Jenna who served us was excellent ! Just a 3 though, food quite mediocre and a little below par for the aesthetic, which is really very comfortable. The Caesar salad really should be better, pizzas just OK (So many good pizza places nowadays that are truly Neapolitan), the gnocchi not light at all and the portion a little too small, and my wife’s pasta was cooked with way too much garlic. We weren’t unhappy, and Jenna’s positivity was appreciated, just really ordinary food.

Beautiful surroundings and nice ambient lighting. Good staff, but the food, not so good, and definitely not value for money! I ordered the Ribeye Steak, and it was not much bigger than a burger. It was the smallest Ribeye I have ever been served in a restaurant, and at £29.95 that is not good value for money, especially in these times where value for money is everything!! [Price correct at time of writing] The draught lager Menabrea was not very pleasant tasting. They used to serve Peroni, which is a good tasting premium lager. If we do go there again, which I very much doubt, I will just have water!!

Alborz

Alborz

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
