Fantastic location obtaining beautiful views over a lake. The staff are helpful and friendly and help add to a wonderful atmosphere. Food is once again fantastic and certainly great value for money. We had the fish and chips with minted mushy peas and the garlic chicken. Would definitely recommend and will look to visit again.

The waiting staff seemed genuinely happy to be working here, which added to the already positive vibes coming from the other customers. The roast chicken portion was huge! It's so nice not to feel short-changed. The roast potatoes were excellent, but the huge Yorkshire pudding won the prize for best item on our plates! . Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5

they managed to fit us even though we had not booked and it was a busy bank holiday. our waiter was jack who was attentive, professional and extremely competent. he was obviously busy, but has managed all his tables so well, he made his job easy, but it is not. in other pubs/restaurants it was a pleasure to serve from it. the food was also excellent. will definitely return.

We had a starter and main here and it wasn’t at all what we expected. The starter came out seconds after we had ordered and the mains followed as soon as we finished our starters, definitely microwaved, the couple next to us were not happy either who had cod and chips which the batter was all soggy and not edible. Will not be coming back after being told not to go there in the first place by a few different friends of ours. In and out the restaurant within 40 minutes

Unfortunately, my visit to the Heron on the Lake was for the wake for my Grandson and not for pleasure. Having said that, the staff were wonderful discreet but available when needed. The food was excellent and plentiful, the bar staff professional and friendly. We were a very large party of varying ages but we're never made to feel we were in the way of normal business. I cannot thank them enough for making an awful day easier to get through. I would thoroughly recommend this place and will return

I rang on the 6th of November to book a table for 12 for the 26th , I was told that the events team will call back to make a booking as it was a bigger booking by Wednesday 15th I still hadn't heard so I rang them and they were so matter of fact about it and no apology their customer service needs to be looked at so unfortunately they lost out especially the big tip they would have got as we had 3 birthday celebrations and my sister in law from France was coming over . We have never eaten there before but we always wanted to try it

This is a great location for a pub, bar, or restaurant. We stopped here for drinks and a meal while looking for a house across the way. Being right by the sea makes it an excellent spot for socializing, or even just enjoying a moment alone. Although it was quite busy, the staff were very friendly and promptly served our drinks and later our food. I had a local dish, and we also shared some small plates from the menu, which were all delicious. The restrooms were clean and tidy, and there was plenty of parking available.
