The best spot in Champery to visit in order to try properly made Fondue, Raclette and Rosti. The atmosphere is immediate, welcoming you into a haze of melting cheese!

Every time we spend a week in Champéry my husband and I always come here for at least twice for fondue or raclette. There’s a great atmosphere here and lovely local wine.

Das Restaurant Le Nord in Champéry ist ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Speisen sind sehr fein. Es hat eine grosse Karte mit einheimischen Spezialitäten (Fondue, Rösti etc.). Insgesamt eine sehr gute Wahl!

It id a must to eat fondue when you are is switzerland so we got the recomendation to go to this restaurant. Great experience, fondue is pretty delicious, serving is nice and fast. After going here you smell of fondue for days! It still worths...the experience!

Usually this comes with a significant disadvantage: their clothing still smells after cheese days. in le nord they have solved this problem by melting the cheese in a particular place with extractor fan....Of course, part of the charm of melting their own cheese has disappeared and they do not always get the cheese service they desire, but overall it is probably still a good idea.

When in Switzerland...you have to eat cheese raclette at least once. Normally this comes with a significante downside: your clothes still smell of cheese days later. In Le Nord they have solved this problem by melting the cheese at a dedicated spot with extractor fan....Of course, part of the charm of melting your own cheese is gone and you do not always get the cheese service you may desire, but overall it is probably still a good idea. Le Nord is positioned as cosy mountainous food restaurant. It offers simple meals with a focus on cheese. Service is friendly and menu without surprise. However food was a little disappointing (very basic). And most annoying, you get the feeling of being a cow to...be milked. Prices are quite high for very basic food. You get fondu without any salad, or potatoes, or meat, for instance, for 25 chf (22 euros). And the waiters give the impression of being a bit pushy for you to order drinks and deserts. In short, the new management has brought greedy impression.

Our party of six rocked up on the final evening of our stay in Champrey with no reservation so were seated upstairs in a dining room by ourselves no worries, we were happy to be getting fed! We fancied trying the traditional fondue so...the waitress recommended we try a plain sauce and also one tomato and one pesto based cheese sauces which we were happy to do. Three large pans of sauce arrived (we were told two portions in each pan) one small basket of bread and a small bag of boiled potatoes.
