"Creativity and originality are the key words that marked my summer experience in this restaurant. The setting is charming with a terrace offering a magnificent panoramic view of the mountains. The wooden interior creates a warm atmosphere, and the welcoming staff adds a friendly touch. The menu offers a rich selection of Valais wines. The dishes offered are all as tempting as each other, making it difficult to choose between the different options. Finally, I opted for a delicious tuna tataki as a starter, followed by a fillet of beef as a main course and a refreshing dessert with flavors of lemon, peach and verbena. Every bite was a delight and the generous portions satisfied my appetite. The restaurant menu changes regularly. The cuisine is resolutely tasty and highlights fine products with a harmonious touch of aromatic herbs from the mountains on each dish. I also had the opportunity to taste my companion's dishes, which were just as exquisite. We shared a gourmet and unforgettable moment. I can only highly recommend this establishment to all lovers of gastronomy and culinary discoveries. If you are passing through the region, do not hesitate to stop there. Personally, I can't wait to go back."

"We visited Champéry in January 2020 for about 2 weeks. We frequently found ourselves at Chez Joe. Chicken burger and the pork poutine were to die for! It's super casual place and decently priced (cash only) it's not a big place, but if you're an...early eater you'll have no problems finding a spot to sit. I definitely recommend! Champéry is a French speaking region, but no worries if you don't speak it. Most people can speak English quite well! Do yourselves a favour and enjoy a quick and delish meal!"

"Very nice random discovery, for a lunch break during a ski day. Breathtaking view of the mountain, very good cuisine, hearty dishes! Wide choice for all tastes. We had the cheese/ham toast, a vegetable soup and a plate of raw vegetables. Very friendly and fast service. Prices remain relatively high, but normal for the location."

"Deplorable and disorganized service, during our visit we had to deal with 5 different waiters... None seemed concerned. After finally being able to order the dish of the day recommended by one of them and a cheese crust, which we were served lukewarm after asking where our dishes were, this after half an hour of waiting. .. Hefty bill 35 chf for a dish of the day, certainly good, but... When we make the remark we reply that it was not the dish of the day but the speciality of the day.... More deception... Cold food, catastrophic service, false and misleading advice, exorbitant prices... In the Portes area it is the worst establishment you can find. Never again!"

"I have been to Alta many times over the last 5 years and was always happy with food and service. In fact last year the waitress was so nice I still remember her. However this year the service is a complete shambles with the 2...new waitresses. First, they don’t wear a mask and I will report this to the autorithies. Second, they are rude, speak in a rushed manner with customers but spend a lovely time chit chatting between behind the bar. Third, they are slooooowwwww to take orders and slower to deliver. So bye bye Alta. Arriverderci strozi."
