Le Comptoir de L'Artoise

We had a delightful dinner here. Our food was expertly prepared. We especially enjoyed meeting the restaurant's owner, who shared some secret ingredients added to his delicious scalloped potatoes. Wonderful French cuisine and lovely couple owner.

looking for a place off the "touristy" champs elysees this was recommended by a hotel. we looked at the menu, checked out a few others nearby and came back here. so glad we did! excellent food and service. warm and friendly staff. would definitely return

This restaurant is one of two family owned and run which sit next to each other. One with French Cuisine and the other with Italian. The food in both was among the best we had in Paris and was by far the most reasonably priced.. We will go back on our next visit. Visualizza piatti

The owners have been plying their trade at L'Artoise since 1985, and you must be doing something right to achieve that. The charming couple took pride in their hosting and took the time to converse [in English] which really added to the evening. The food is rustic French which quaffable wine aplenty. The veal kidney and liver were perfectly pink and delicious.

This was a serendipitous find. We were out prior to 7PM hoping to find dinner of a substantive nature for our last dinner in Paris and there it was! Atmosphere, friendly with English spoken as well as menu available in English. A reasonably priced truly French dinner. One wonderful taste after another from the Goose Pate to the Beef Tenderloin Au Poivre finishing the meal with a Fruit Tiramisu. I would recommend this restaurant without reservation.

Our family had an exceptional meal here and the hosts were charming and kind, especially with our kids. They also discounted the kids meals and even gave our 8yo daughter a complimentary dessert just because she was trying out her French! 2 adults and 5 kids ate well for €106 and it was the best meal we have had in France. Rather than get grumpy at our poor French as seems to happen sometimes, the Maitre D encouraged us along! I couldn't recommend it more. Visualizza piatti

We stayed at the Hotel Rochester after a Viking cruise and heard about this little spot run by a husband and wife team. It's 2 restaurants in one - one side is Italian and the other side is French. We ate on the French side and opted for the entre and plat combo. The salads were good. My wife had scallops and I had chicken. The scallops were very good. The chicken was okay - not as tender as I would have liked. The décor is nice. The service was very good.

very nicely executed dishes (the milanese escalope is a real treat), a relatively simple map, but with various dishes. I'd say it's a safe restaurant, but we have to get some patience at least for lunch. servers, although appreciable, actually seemed to me overflowed and we had to wait more than three quarters of an hour before we could get up. apart from this flat and a little high rates, it is (really) good and it is all the main. nb: the antipasti and the ravioli, to mention only what I saw, seem to be worth the blow.

I went there with a couple of friends who don't know much about European food, so although the food wasn't great they still kind of enjoyed it especially their teenage son. It's way overpriced, by the way. Anyway we decided to go again the next day with the rest of our group. When they asked what we'd like to drink we only said 'water' assuming it would be tap water, instead they brought us 2 bottles of water, one sparkling one still. They charged us 12 euros for those ! I had to ask my friend with more experience of restaurants in France whether it's normal they all said we got shafted big time. Won't go again, not worth a dime. Visualizza piatti
