It doesn't have the best setting or best food or best prices but it more than makes up for this by having two extremely dynamic and charming owners. Whenever I come here I feel welcomed valued and we have a great time. I think this restaurant will become very successful and if you want to see real Swiss hospitality which is unfortunately in short supply in Swiss romande, you should visit senat.

Food is really 1st class and actually this has now become our favourite. Presentation, quality and really tasty. We had oysters to start, then beef tartare and lamb chops.Wine choice is excellent as well. This is essentially a first class restaurant without being pretentious. Its in the style of 70's decor, music and atmosphere, so you have to like that, which we do.The staff and service is excellent too. They are so hospitable. I highly recommend checking it.

This is truly an odd restaurant - but in a good way! The decor is "edgey" and yet the menu is very traditional, but again in a good way. Two very big pluses - the chef can cook, and cook very well!!! And the wine-list and blackboard wine suggestions are very good too. I had marrow bones for a starter - perfectly prepared, and for main course lamb-chops - equally well done and full of flavour. The presentation of the dishes were appealing and elegant - in a French rustic style. Le Senat is at the top of rue Emile-Yung a short narrow street leads downhill almost to the main Geneva hospital. On the right side all the houses seem to be the offices of various medicos, the left starts with Le Senat which literally means The Senate. The rest seem to be composed of normal houses.
