Lovely food, lovely staff We had ribs and chicken melt. Was my second visit, for many more to come

Took some friends for lunch (Monday) and the place was not open. The opening times stated here cannot be relied upon. Call ahead!

Had a wonderful meal there with my parents and friend from the states. Food was fresh, homemade and great value. The service was tremendous too! They even brought out both garden leas and mushy for my American friend as she was bamboozled by it.

Went out last night with some pals, Teonie (one of the bartenders) was who we wanted to mention alongside the atmosphere and vibes of the place, literally helped run drinks to our table on her own accord when the bar was like 30 man deep on all sides. Proper credit to the pub.

Visited on Thursday evening with my husband and it was a lovely atmosphere, food was really nice and staff member serving us was lovely too. We booked the table after stopping by for a drink in the beer garden the weekend before. Have also been for Sunday dinner before and that was lovely too. Will definitely be back again.

Was using this place quite frequently the food is really nice and the potions are plentiful however the manager isn’t the most welcoming she’s very direct and abrupt the place is understaffed therefore she is doing the job of 3 people which is clearly too much for her , service is very rushed and she like you in fed and out be prepared to wait to be served for drinks yet pounced on when eating , it’s a shame really as we enjoyed visiting

I was pleased with the quality of the food and the efficient and pleasant and cheerful service. We were a party of four on the Bank holiday evening. We had three starters, brie, squid and duck spring rolls. We shared, they were delicious. Two of us had haddock and chips and two the sea food platter. they were great. The chips were magnificent. The prices were good. Drinks were good , I had an exceptionally good bitter that had been treated well in the cellar and had a splendid head on it. I recommend it. Geoff Garratt

The new chef this place has , has brought this establishment back from rock bottom have visited over the past few days for lunch selected meals in the week 2 for £18 and Sunday lunch starting from £13.50 a choice of meat’s seasonal veg , (cauliflower cheese pot of gravy thats included but not listed on the menu (nice surprise really good potions I can highly recommend , there is also a vegetarian option available. The desserts on the other hand aren’t upto much all priced at £6.75 chocolate fudge cake was dry and the ice cream sundae was rather small (2scoops that was not that flavoursome Overall value for money worth a visit

Very disappointed!! Lovely setting, however. We were seated in the window where there was at least 20 huge flies buzzing around so we asked to be moved. The other room was the same The waitress or owner was very impatient, making us order really fast. I had not even looked at the menu and she had asked us twice had we decided. The starter was ok but never been what it described on the menu. The mains came. I ordered ribs. To be fair they were cooked good but the sauce was vile. I gave them advice on how to do a home made bbq sauce. Anybody can pour a shop bought bbq sauce on food. My wife’s sea food platter was cold and so was the side dish of peas.
