"We enjoyed our chasse meal at the Café des Fontaines last October so much we were eager to eat there again but all the restaurants in Switzerland have been closed for a very long time due to the COVID 19 pandemic. So as soon as they were allowed to re open we booked a table at the Café des Fontaines and two friends joined us. We chose the 79frs menu starter of tartare of tuna which was absolutely perfect and came with a small salad, Tagliata de boeuf sliced entrecôte with roquette and shavings of parmesan which was very tender and lovely to look at (and to eat! and for dessert there was an ardoise (slate with small helpings of six different desserts with an espresso if you wanted one. The crème brûlée and the tiramisu were amazing. One of our friends who doesn 't eat raw fish had the other starter on the menu a tomato risotto. She said she would go there again and again just to have that! The service was perfect and we are looking forward to going back! Many thanks to Emilie and the chef and the entire team! Note that it is a small place (and was full as well and with the current social distancing in force reservations are essential."

"This is a hidden gem of a restaurant nestled in the medieval section of Saillon on a hilltop overlooking the Rhone Valley. We sat in the terrace since it was a warm day but the inside was full too. Apparently, this is a very popular eating place. I ordered a warm quinoa spiced with vegetables and cheese. It was served in a bowl and was very delicious. My glass of red Humagne wine was priced at just 3.30 Swiss Francs – a very reasonable price for this Valais speciality. Despite the full house, the three lady servers did a great job in taking orders and serving dishes without too much of a delay. The next time, I will make a reservation in advance."

"This restaurant with a well-earned reputation is run by an Italian family who arrived in this village high above Fully three generations ago and is accessible via a curved narrow route that should avoid the weakest, unless he has a small car. I barely managed to get to the Erié car park with my MB Marco Polo and a hike to the Fully Lake. The village of Chiboz is interesting with the history of the houses described on a board attached to its facade. There are interesting people to meet in this restaurant. Do you remember the introduction of Wallis Phrase, T’as où les vaches? The restaurant is especially well known for the game, but I was a bit early for the hunting season, so had to choose from their regular menu and a very well selected wine list with some of the best winemakers in Wallis. I recommend taking a hotel room on the restaurant when you drink wine and are trying to take the road back to Fully. A slightly lighter road goes east and then downhill to Ovronnaz. Bon appétit!"

"Update to my review from July 31, 2023: Following your kind response where you acknowledge your share of responsibility, I thank you and update my review by adding two stars. I am also reconsidering my decision not to come back to you. By your clearly formulated esteem, I wish to grant you a possibility of relating differently. On D Day, I would like to have an exchange with a member of your management. I will reserve by specifying it. Heartily and Consciously Original review: Small profit for a big loss. During a 3rd visit to this good restaurant in November 2022, I recognize that the quality of the cuisine as well as the freshness of the ingredients were as usual irreproachable. As for the service, it is generally courteous but becomes average when ordering if there is a particular request formulated as a vegan (diet without animal source ingredients). Each time I felt the attitude turn subtly to incomprehension while remaining polite. When we honor with a Conscious choice a team and a place to spend a pleasant evening, everyone should be able to express their food options without feeling looked at like an alien. And now, the unacceptable. It is clearly announced on the menu that a request for an additional ingredient in the recipe of a dish is invoiced. I can understand it, everyone has their own policy, if it doesn't suit me, I go elsewhere. On the other hand, when it is like in my case the replacement of mozzarella by mushrooms, and that it is invoiced even as 1 franc, it is not! It's a matter of principle. We must stop taking ourselves for cows to be milked. The server was very sorry when cashing but told me he could not do anything, it is the instructions of the house. Since the server is powerless, I wrote an eMail to the restaurant management on November 8, 2022 to express my disagreement with this practice. To this day, I am without even an acknowledgment of receipt. I think I left enough time to respond. I see that I am considered as a simple customer who has to cough up the change. Accademia du BUSINESS della Pizza, GOODBYE! You will never see me again, and if asked if I know and appreciate your establishment, I will answer what is written above. Your behavioral and mercantile policy for the Beings in another style of Life than yours cuts the appetite and is hardly worth more than a star..."
