"The food was excellent, but the service was alarmingly slow. We even had to inquire about the arrival of our main courses. The landlord kindly offered to comp our second round of drinks as an apology, but it still felt like we had been overlooked. The venue itself is charming, featuring friendly staff and lovely historic elements of the mill. It’s just unfortunate that the service detracted from an otherwise wonderful experience. "We only discovered this fantastic restaurant thanks to a tradesman at the holiday complex we were staying at. Located on a side street in the village of Tideford, it is not well signposted. But now that the word is spreading, make sure you visit and sample the freshest and most delicious seafood you can imagine. Upon arrival, my wife and I were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The friendly bar staff quickly took our drink orders. The menu, offering seafood, meats, and vegetarian options, may not be extensive, but the quality of the dishes is superb based on our experience. Following a recommendation from another guest, I tried the seafood gumbo. This smoky, soup-like dish was packed with king prawns, crab, lobster, and haddock, accompanied by a slice of rustic bread. My wife ordered the haddock and chips, which she found to be the best fish she had ever tasted. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Tideford to discover this charming and welcoming pub is a must. You will not be disappointed by this hidden gem of a place with its old-world charm."

"Paid £5.50 for a gluten free sandwich and got an extremely small roll. The waitress was extremely embarrassed about serving it. Total rip off won’t be back. Dietary restrictions: If you are celiac or wheat intolerant you will get ripped off, best to avoid, which is a shame as staff really nice Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch"

"We visited for dinner as we were staying in a Travelodge close by and wanted to grab dinner somewhere in walking distance. We had a beautiful meal. They offer a children's menu, which my son had, and he really enjoyed. My husband and I had...mixed hors d'oeuvres which were really tasty (the satay chicken had a slightly spicy sauce which was delicious). My husband had a really good wanton soup (sounds like a small thing to mention but the wantons were really full and the soup itself was very tasty). Our mains were really great especially the sizzling beef which came spitting hot and full of flavour. The home made dumplings from the specials mens were gorgeous. Our waitress was fantastic: very attentive and prompt with everything. She made an effort to chat to our son, and was extremely warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and revisit if in the area again."
