"We only discovered this fantastic restaurant thanks to a tradesman at the holiday complex we were staying at. Located on a side street in the village of Tideford, it is not well signposted. But now that the word is spreading, make sure you visit and sample the freshest and most delicious seafood you can imagine. Upon arrival, my wife and I were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. The friendly bar staff quickly took our drink orders. The menu, offering seafood, meats, and vegetarian options, may not be extensive, but the quality of the dishes is superb based on our experience. Following a recommendation from another guest, I tried the seafood gumbo. This smoky, soup-like dish was packed with king prawns, crab, lobster, and haddock, accompanied by a slice of rustic bread. My wife ordered the haddock and chips, which she found to be the best fish she had ever tasted. For seafood enthusiasts, a visit to Tideford to discover this charming and welcoming pub is a must. You will not be disappointed by this hidden gem of a place with its old-world charm."

"This restaurant is our neighborhood favorite. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming to families and dogs. They have a good selection of drinks. The food has been a bit hit or miss for us. We loved the desserts, but the main dishes were more inconsistent. The sausage and mash was delicious, but it lacked vegetables. My partner had a seafood dish that she thought was off and couldn't eat. I don't eat fish, so I can't comment on that. The owners are open to feedback and seem dedicated to improving the restaurant. Overall, we believe it has a lot of potential and we look forward to seeing it continue to improve. It's off to a strong start!"

"canonize over this pub when they return from day trip to home and so glad that we have entered. very friendly place at the river lynher with many sitting opportunities both in and outside the doors. beautiful selection of beer/drinks and really friendly staff. the best is eating that during the traditional pub duve is everything made home and really delicious."

"We were recommended this restaurant by our hosts, and what a recommendation it was! The pub's character was right up our alley, and the atmosphere on a Friday night was fantastic. The bar area was busy but it didn't affect the atmosphere in the restaurant. Although we hadn't booked, we were grateful they were able to accommodate us. We both enjoyed starters - I had the delicious fish stew and my partner had the scallops. The main course, the pie of the day special, was steak and Stilton, which happened to be our favorite. The pastry and filling were excellent, with a generous amount of meat. The chips and vegetables were perfectly cooked. We were too full for dessert this time, but we will definitely return. The food was clearly homemade, evident from the wonderful smells in the kitchen. The staff were friendly and helpful. Despite being unfamiliar with the area, the waitress provided us with an easier route back to our accommodation. We wish more pubs could offer the same combination of character, atmosphere, delicious food, and great service."

"I recently revisited this restaurant for the first time since 1979, and it was like a trip down memory lane. The food was just as good as I remembered, with a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious meals. While the days of chicken in a basket with onion rings may be gone (which was always my favorite), every dish we tried was excellent. Our group of six enjoyed a delicious lunch, with my personal favorite being the liver and bacon with mash and gravy. It was absolutely delicious! The restaurant was also good value for the quality of food and service we received. I highly recommend checking it out, but be aware that the sat nav may lead you down some ridiculously tiny Cornish roads if you choose to visit."
