"Myself and my wife came down for comedy night. I had the fish cake and she had the flat iron steak. Both were exceptional especially for how busy the pub was. Our waitress was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The recommendations for the Malbec and the Pinot to match with our meals was very much appreciated. We have already booked our table to see Tim Vine in July and are looking forward to another great evening and even better food. Can’t recommend this place enough."

Went here randomly will certainly be back. Was a proper pub with lovely staff and had the best burger I've eaten in my life. Cheers guys

We'd booked a table for 7 pm, due to traffic we were 45 minutes late. They kept the kitchen open for us, and the food/wine and beer were very good. Friendly helpful staff too. Definitely recommend.

A typical British pub with good ambiance food and service. The staff are polite and friendly and I attended a party in the function suite which is great venue to celebrate any occasion . Good buffet drinks were reasonable and it was a great night .

We highly recommend this venue, staff and food. We used the upstairs private room with independent bar. We received great service, attention to detail and excellent food. Far too often these days pubs focus on food and forget that running a top quality cellar and keeping lines clean and beer in good order is just as important. Luke and Ryan keep an excellent cellar and the beer is always crisp and clean whether first drop or last one of the day. An art form not usually appreciated enough today, it's not the cheapest, but is one of the best around.

Previously had lunch at this place and was very impressed, decided to go back with the family for a roast, all I can say was how delicious every single item was, there were 6 of us and each and every plate was finished, even the children. Would highly recommend, prices were very reasonable for what we had, food was great quality and piping hot, staff very attentive and helpful, lovely Sunday roast.

A friend and I ordered the cote de bouef for the Sunday roast and, I’m not just saying this, it was the best Sunday roast I’ve ever eaten. We took the option of ordering 1 garlic butter sauce and 1 gravy alongside perfectly cooked vegetables and a side of cauliflower cheese and I’ve never been as satisfied with a meal in my entire life. Inadvertently booked at the premier League final...but we arrived beforehand so it was relatively chill when we got there. Food menu was very very limited because of the football which was a shame. Wine (house) was delicious and not too expensive so that's always a plus. Food (burger) was a good size but could have done with another side. The haddock looked much more impressive. Lovely homely atmosphere and the staff were really friendly

Went for Sunday lunch. Aside from the considerable wait, no one was impressed with their meals, which were on the expensive side. Roast potatoes that varied between mushy and rock solid. Veg that was lukewarm compared to the piping hot main. The sweet potato Wellington was just mashed sweet potato in batter without the pate/ duxelles inner lining that gives a Wellington all its flavour. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was nice but food was lacking.
