Clean and tidy even on Bank Holiday. Excellent varied menu. Well cooked, presented meals and served with a friendly, caring attitude that was NOT intrusive or overbearing. I can't wait to go back again.

Visited this pub today for lunch and could not rate it any higher. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the pub was clean and very well looked after and the food was perfect. Would definitely go there again when passing.

Good welcome, even though we hadn't booked. Drinks order was delivered promptly. Food menu was varied and we chose burgers and vegetarian options. Service was friendly and our waitress Stacey was very pleasant and cheerful.

Slow, and terrible service. Really worth the wait of an hour and mins for just a table of simple main dish each. They need new chefs and staff or some decent management changes or something...I'm surprised they ever have return custom.

We stayed at the Premier Inn (Hurricane) and found this pub just a few minutes away, making it a convenient choice. They also offer a discount for emergency service workers, which was a nice bonus. We were seated quickly and the service was fast and friendly. We would definitely recommend the good food as well. Thank you very much.

We sat in the snug window nook and the sun streamed in on our backs to warm against the Spring chill. Service from Gina and a fellow, sorry I can't recall your name, was very good and we ordered an array of tasty treats (chicken, soup, calamari) followed by a fantabulous sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and custard. It was a great place and way to catch up with old friends. Thanks so much Shire Horse....we will be back!

The Shire Horse has served us well in the past so we were looking forward to Sunday lunch there today. Sadly we were disappointed. Beef described as ‘served pink’ was chewy, grisly, and overdone and the small slices suggested the end of the joint. Very small amount of mixed veg and the ‘goose fat garlic and rosemary roast potatoes’ tasted suspiciously like Iceland frozen spuds altho the very attentive waitress assured us they were ‘cooked from scratch’. Yes we should have complained earlier and the waitress was very sorry the meal had been disappointing and gave us a discount. It’s just a shame our treat wasn’t such a treat and sadly we won’t be hurrying back. Waitress service was excellent... Visualizza piatti
