"Sunday dinner on stanhope. it has been in stanton for many years that I am here, but as the last minute try what vatertag was, they managed to get us into a table for 2. we had missed the breakfast, so decided on 3rd duck with cointreau pate starter great, traditional Sunday roast beef with veg yorker, very tasty gravy with a supplied side of cauliflower cheese again, tasty and the beef was nice and tender. we gave it 10 minutes before trying the sticky toffee pudding with custard I really enjoyed mine; piping hot. my colleague, however, reported that he was almost cold, so today only 4 stars. we'll be back. very pleasant place and cheap. recommended!"

Lovely garden in summer. Great Sunday roast. Not too expensive either. 12, 16 or 18 for one two or three course roast. Great old style in a beautiful old village.

Went for lunch and we liked the food, which arrived promptly and very hot. The place needs a bit of a face lift but all in all we enjoyed our visit. By the way... the toilets were very clean and in good working condition . Well done.

eating was amazing, had the steak and stylton cake. loves the feeling of the country pub. Polite staff, old fashion beams written on them with a quiz....big idea. great value for money and love the quiet atmosphere. will definitely be back.

The Sunday lunch was terrific! Great portions, the meat was fantastic, a great choice of sides to accompany the roast, extra gravy as standard. Simply wonderful. Dare I say the best roast I’ve had in a long time…? We shall certainly return.

as always. the personal is always very friendly, the menu is offered with various like 2 netzen for £12.99 and the special board changes regularly. warm, cozy, traditional pub feeling with typical pub duve and beautiful atmosphere. would definitely recommend.

I hired the function room at The Stanhope Arms for my sewing and crafting sessions. Caroline and the team were beyond helpful. The ladies that took part all had food from the 2 for £12 menu and said what amazing value for money it was. Thanks you for having us, a beautiful, cosy venue with lovely staff. Highly recommend!

We kicked off my Mum's big birthday celebrations at The Stanhope Arms and we are very satisfied customers. Mum and I received fabulous support from Caroline and her amazingTeam from the outset, from booking, handling of massive play lists, table cloths, decorations and the wonderful evening entertainment We were really pleased with the buffet, great variety of very tasty food, no-one was disappointed. Fabulous venue, one very happy birthday girl. Many thanks and keep up the great work xx

Returned today for Sunday lunch with my family and sister, warm friendly atmosphere and staff welcoming. Selection of drinks is fantastic! The starters (scotch eggs especially) are amazing. The Sunday dinners are by far the best in the area, all home cooked fresh ingredients. Kids meals are of a high standard. Those looking for a non alcoholic beverage have a large selection to choose from. Can’t rate this place high enough and we will 100% be back again for another enjoyable family meal.
