"We made a reservation at the Bat and Ball for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday, anticipating a special dining experience. However, we were quite disappointed with our visit. The person who greeted us at the bar was not very welcoming, and it felt like we were inconveniencing the mostly empty pub by arriving. The service improved once we were seated, with friendly but slow service. The food was just okay, nothing particularly remarkable. Overall, it didn't live up to our expectations and was not worth the trip from London."

We stopped at the Bat and Ball in Cuddesdon on a journey down from London. It was the perfect place to stop, a very pretty village, a proper traditional English pub with friendly staff and really lovely food. I would definitely recommend visiting if you are in the area.
