I recently had some of the best food at this restaurant and the waiter was incredibly friendly. The food was superb!

This was our first time dining at the Black Bull in 10 years, and we really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and hospitality. Cheers to Black Bull! The price per person was between £30-£40. We rated the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5 out of 5.

We were unable to eat here today because the kitchen was temporarily closed due to an electrical fault. However, the manager met us in the car park and very helpfully redirected to an alternative nearby pub (The Brampton Mill see separate review). Thank you!

We ate here the other night as a group of friends. One was coming from Sheffield and got waylaid on the journey. The staff were very generous to wait an hour and a half before we ordered, even though the kitchen was due to close, and we all enjoyed a delicious meal together plus some desserts. I ordered a burger and was disappointed to receive low-quality patty typical of food trucks. The ingredients were cheap and they didn't have Coca Cola available. I was very disappointed as this restaurant doesn't measure up to other similar country pubs in the area. Food quality received a rating of 1, while service and atmosphere both were rated a 3.

I decided to stop in for breakfast over the weekend after being extremely impressed during a previous visit. The food, service, and coffee were all excellent, so I decided to come back the next day for a Sunday roast. The lamb and chicken were absolutely delicious, and we both enjoyed an amazing apple crumble for dessert. Overall, I couldn't find anything to fault with this experience. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. I would give this restaurant five stars.

We made a reservation for Sunday lunch on Wednesday, but they were only able to accommodate us at noon due to our party of 7, which was fine as we had young children aged six and two. The staff greeted us warmly, were very accommodating, and attentive. The atmosphere was comfortable and friendly, and it was our first visit so we weren't sure what to expect. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and well presented. We were celebrating four birthdays in our group so we brought our own cake, which the restaurant was happy to serve with plates and a sharp knife.
