"It was many years since I last visited here and I enjoyed the food then. Having just moved back into the area I thought I would give it a try. I was not disappointed. The staff were lovely. Friendly and helpful with my questions. The food was just lovely. We had two large light yorkshire puddings with gravy perfect. The Cross Keys Burger, served with chips followed and was said to be delicious. Saschas chicken supreme was perfectly cooked chicken, spring onion mash, served with a gorgeous creamy mushroom sauce. Oh I am salivating at the thought of it. Belgian chocolate melt amd Sticky toffee pudding followed, both dlicious and generous portions. . All in all, what a lovely meal. I will certainly be back. Thank you."

"Very disappointed!! Brought starters had to go find cutlery. Brought mains whilst 2 guests were still eating starters. Food very mediocre and Luke warm. Had to move plates to an empty table as no staff came back to ask is the meal was ok, clear table,ask if we wanted dessert/coffees etc which we didn’t, by now just wanted to leave. Had money taken off the bill when we complained but unfortunately the damage had been done !! Will not be returning and on today’s experience would not recommend."

"Growing up in Batley, I have always known a good curry and I prefer mine spicy. However, since moving to Church Fenton, I have struggled to find an Indian restaurant that can deliver a hot and delicious curry to my liking. They always seemed to be either too sweet or too bland and spicy. That was until I discovered Saffron in Sherburn. The food at Saffron is exceptional. Every dish arrives hot, flavorful, and perfectly tailored to our preferences. I always request my dish to be "naga strength hot" and each time, it exceeds my expectations. If my budget and waistline allowed it, I would dine at Saffron every night! The chefs at Saffron are truly outstanding. I hope they never leave the area. I highly recommend Saffron to anyone who appreciates flavorful curries."

"this pub has been used and abused by poor owners in recent years. no more. current owners are excellent hosts, hard work, friendly and attentive. eating is top notch, well boiled, fresh and well presented with a feeling that the chef is their own stamp and flair with a balanced menu. it has a country comfortable feeling, stone floor, open fire etc. I would ask that more is done to make the beer garden more tempting for the summer, but different from what all local should be."

"Fabulous Place. I always reserve providing good reviews until I have eaten somewhere several times. My family and I have now eaten here 3 times, once mid week and twice on a Sunday. The food is absolutely excellent as is the service and all staff who work there. You couldn't ask for a warmer welcome and better service the owners/managers are every bit as friendly and helpful as their wonderful staff. There is a great choice on the menu and most of the dishes come as a smaller option. The quality of the meat is first class and portion sizes are generous. All food is cooked to perfection and it is just a lovely place to eat. On top of all that they also welcome well behaved doggies too! If you're thinking of trying it, don't hesitate because you will love it."
