"We have had two Sunday lunches here recently whilst our kitchen was being fitted. The meat is always sooooo tender and good portions. The service is very good even though they are always busy. Our daughter rated their Nut Roast as being one of the best she’s ever had in a restaurant. Very lucky to have this on our doorstep. Oh, and dogs are very welcome everywhere."

"The fish and chips at this restaurant are fantastic. Although they only accept cash, which may not be convenient for everyone, I personally appreciate it as it helps keep cash transactions alive. The owner is very honest and enthusiastic. This place has the best fish and chips around. They also offer a great selection of kid-friendly items at a good price. The service is for take out and it is best for dinner."

"Food and Drinks: Our expectations for The Vine Tree were quite high, but we ended up feeling a little disappointed. On the positive side, the menu offers a more interesting selection than most places in the area. The restaurant staff were attentive and skilled, which was fantastic. However, the quality of the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. It seems like the chef may have overdone it with the salt, as all our savory dishes were heavily seasoned; otherwise, the flavors were excellent. Two of us ordered dishes with king prawns, but they turned out tough and rubbery, which was disappointing. On the bright side, the duck was delicious and perfectly cooked. The steak was good but not exceptional; with so many venues serving steak, it’s hard to truly stand out. Overall, we found it difficult to add The Vine Tree to our “must eat here again” list."

"it really has to deal with how we were treated both during our stay and after. we were for a night in dragon inn with friends who were visited from Australia while we went the beacons way. the food was not good and we heard some other tables to complain about it. but the reason why I write this evaluation is that we were kept up to the early morning hours by the workers who play music, even though we went down at midnight and asked them to turn off the music. when we complained in the morning, the team of employees accused us of giving up the music (apologizing me to go down in the middle of the night and hear it in the pub) and told us that there is nothing she could do and contact the manager. I have tried to contact the manager since our stay to solve the problem by email, facebook and phone, but were ignored. I've never left a bad review, but the experience ruined our trip and I'm really mad as we've been treated since then. if they wish a relaxing stay in crickhowell and are treated decently, I would advise to stay somewhere else."

"The first review I have ever left and I’ve run my own pub for twenty years next month. Just such a lovely place to spend an hour or two in. Definitely felt like a family business, and for a slow quiet Monday they were still smiling and very friendly which was appreciated. Food was great, the ale (TTlandlord), the wine, and the whiskey were all perfect. It was great value, if anything I would say too inexpensive for the business to make the margins that they should be in 2023 to reflect the love and effort that they put into their livelihoods! Cracking pub with great staff, including the youngest of the crew at about 2 or 3 yo. Not working but still adding a great family vibe to the place. Well done and thank you!"
