"Food and Drinks: Our expectations for The Vine Tree were quite high, but we ended up feeling a little disappointed. On the positive side, the menu offers a more interesting selection than most places in the area. The restaurant staff were attentive and skilled, which was fantastic. However, the quality of the food didn’t quite meet our expectations. It seems like the chef may have overdone it with the salt, as all our savory dishes were heavily seasoned; otherwise, the flavors were excellent. Two of us ordered dishes with king prawns, but they turned out tough and rubbery, which was disappointing. On the bright side, the duck was delicious and perfectly cooked. The steak was good but not exceptional; with so many venues serving steak, it’s hard to truly stand out. Overall, we found it difficult to add The Vine Tree to our “must eat here again” list."

The setting was delightful, and the staff were both efficient and friendly. However, we were disappointed with our steak order. I requested mine to be medium rare, but it came out more rare and not very hot. My partner asked for his to be medium to well done, and it was also quite rare and not warm enough. On a brighter note, the dessert was wonderful. Overall, I found the experience to be quite pricey, and I left feeling a bit let down. Service: 4, Location: 5. Visualizza piatti

We gathered here for a Sunday lunch with friends during the summer and had a wonderful dining experience. The service was superb, and the upstairs restaurant felt spacious and airy. The quality of the meat was outstanding. I could have used a couple more roast potatoes and the food could have been served a bit hotter, but those are minor issues. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and the contemporary interior design really impressed us. I would definitely recommend making a reservation to avoid any disappointment.

Great service, great food and a nice place to be! Staff attentive, tables well spaced. We discovered we could have taken our little dog with us. If you book they will seat you downstairs with your ‘hound’! I had the ‘Land and sea’ At least I think that was what it was called. Yummy, steak cooked as I like it with prawns (the big ones! and mash, potato, vegetables, and a lovely seafood bisque. Couldn’t manage my Eton mess after all that, so they put it in a nice box and I took it home. will be going back there again for surePS yes they do have a car park!

"Stayed for one night at the Bear Hotel, Crickhowell, including breakfast. I was given a room off the main building in a seperate 'motel ' style accomodation block. The room was a good size and comfortable, but there are a few points to make. For example, points off for the patchy painting job in the main room which make it look tired and the front door that does not quite fit the frame which allows cold air and noise to filter though. Another fustrating point is that there were no plug sockets or switches next to the bed, meaning that if you have a phone to charge, it will have to be done on the other side of the room and if you want to turn the lights off whilst in bed, you have to get out and turn them off at the front door and make your way back to bed in the dark. Another minor point to consider is the very loud extractor fan which faces the accomodation block from the main building kitchen, although this got turned off at about 22:00 which I was most thankful for! Points gained for the extremely comfortable bed with a matress that felt like it could have been brand new and the vast selection of hot drink sachets that surpass any hotel I 've stayed in. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and the shower worked well with good pressure and very hot water which was very welcome. In the morning, the breakfast selection was small but tasty. The server was friendly and polite and took my order quickly. Everything seemed well cooked and I was set for the day. A few things to consider, and I would stay again if it were for just one night but I would look elsewhere for any longer than that."
