Good all round experience..food plentiful and of a good standard..The Sunday roast is fantastic..friendly staff..recommended.

This is my local but must say what fantastic service and value for money this place is. It has a great atmosphere and superb selection of ford and drink.

Eaten twice there in recent weeks. Enjoyed both occasions with enjoyable food at reasonable prices and great service (same member of staff both times). We'll be back!

Fantastic food and value you for money. We had Fathers Day lunch for 10 and the Food and Service. There was so yummy beef and lamb and massive jugs of gravy. Thanks Kaz you did an amazing job of looking after us. Thank you

We were a group of 6 looking for lunch on quite a tight schedule. Karen listened to the problem, and suggested that we phoned through our order earlier in the morning. A helpful member of staff took our order over the phone, and the food...was ready for us 10 minutes after we sat down. The meals were tasty, hot and well-presented, and the service was excellent.

We had a lovely lunch yesterday. Everyone so friendly and helpful. A very warm welcome in gorgeous comfy surroundings. A real old fashioned kind of place, with loads of nooks and crannies. The food was really well cooked, hot and delicious. It was also very...competitively priced, and presented very well. On top of that it’s also very dog friendly. Loved The George, and we will certainly be going there again.

Good food and great service. Had been once before about 2 or 3 months ago and enjoyed it was just as good this time. Staff are friendly and attentive. Waitress remembered us from last time and had only been once before. Food was excellent well...cooked and well presented very good specials menu. I had Whitebait for starter and Venison pie and mash with roasted root veg for main and treacle sponge and custard for pudding all excellent. Good value too

We have recently moved into Brixworth so have eaten at the George a few times. Generally the food is good and portions are decent. We had an early dinner on Saturday evening. They are pretty good at steaks but the chicken strozzapretti on the specials...menu wasn’t strozzapretti first of all, but tagliatelle. The sauce was a creamy sauce with pieces of chicken, but not enough sauce so was really dry and not very tasty. I left most of it. The starters were good though the seafood basket had a fish cake in it which could have done with the sweet chilli sauce that was served with the separate fish cake dish. Nachos are good there too. The girls serving were friendly and helpful. We will be back...
