"On the face of it the lunch menu is original and promises much. Indeed our starters pear, binham blue and grape salad and a ham and parsley terrine were good. We both had the red mullet, aioli and potato dish which looked good but was sitting in shellfish sauce. The sauce overpowered the whole dish with a very salty taste clearly it had been reduced too much or the chef had taken the salt pot too far. We pointed this out to the waitress who said oh it 's made out of crab stock . The desserts were ordinary my poached pear was undercooked and hard while my wife 's early strawberry and almond tart had little sign of strawberries. When I went to settle up, I commented on the over salty taste of the main which had made what was billed as an attractive dish really disappointing. His response was Oh, it 's your palate... as if we were to blame for the taste of the dish. I will not be returning any time soon as this level of arrogant dismissal of feedback is not what you are looking for when you go out for lunch."

Wow, I saw the menu and was a little nervous but this has to be the best pub food around. Such a fantastic meal recommend the Norfolk Dapple Gougeres. Can't wait to come back!!

Lovely traditional cosy pub with fantastic classy food. Service from the two young ladies was superb, and the chap behind the bar was friendly and accommodating. Really look forward to the return visit.

Expensive over cooked food in a very noisy atmosphere. When you pay over £70 a head but can’t have a conversation with your friends as people are drinking and shouting right beside your table, it is very disappointing.

We've eaten here before and were very impressed then but this was our first visit since the change of chef. It was fine but did not compare to the previous standard. It now seems overpriced for what's on offer but the prices haven't changed, simply the chef. I think we'll wait until the next kitchen change to try it again.

The best meal out we’ve had in ages. The oysters were incredible with a horseradish vinegar, and black treacle rye sourdough on the side. The burrata starter with wild garlic was the best I’ve had. Then we went for the bavette sharing main cooked to total perfection with amazing sides. Portion sizes were great, and wine cocktail list also really special. We love that you can eat food this special in a gorgeous atmospheric Suffolk pub ! Service was warm and spot on.

On our second visit here (the first time since the pub changed hands) and were so impressed with our lunch and service. The highlights were the pork chop and the muntjac tartar (partnered with blood orange was a match in heaven). The bar snacks were on another level too (could have easily enjoyed these alone with a pint of gold). Someone knows how to make great sourdough... I felt that the squash and ricotta rotolo could have been better, but only a minor observation. There was not one thing on the menu that didn't sound appealing. Well done everyone and see you again soon.

The Greyhound is a pretty special pub. It’s unpretentious, classy, slick and serves great seasonal, local, well prepared and delicious food. Highlights last night from a really interesting menu were the calves liver with wet polenta. The calves liver was perfectly cooked and was great with the polenta and crispy sage. Also the chalk stream trout with local Butley mussels and parsley risotto was incredible. The custard tart was super smooth and the accompanying rhubarb sorbet was delicious. Great drinks including a punchy blood orange negroni and a bottle of beautiful rose pet nat. Thanks for another lovely evening

We came to the Greyhound having seen it listed as one of the top 100 gastropubs in Britain. We quickly concluded that it most definitely deserves this recognition. We love eating out and have been to numerous good pubs and restaurants over the years and the chef at the Greyhound certainly knows how to cook! The homemade black treacle and rye sourdough bread with butter was the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere, my husband’s fish starter of mackerel with a tomato tart and lovage was beautiful, as was my vegetarian starter of Treviso, blood orange, cheese and smoked beetroot with a linseed biscuit. The main dish of wild Suffolk bass with a shellfish sauce, mussels, rouille and monk’s beard was in...

"Sunday of our recent visit to aldeburgh was the Mother's Day and we welcomed the opportunity to taste the afternoon tea in the white lion hotel in adleburgh. the conditoir chef at the white lion is anmar odendal, an award-winning wedding cake designer. by her business crumb, she was recognized in 2013 by the high-time industry as the best wedding cake designer in the eastern englands. Our afternoon tea was florally inspired and included a selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries with a selection of tea, a glass champagne and a little pot flowers for mama, all at an incredible price of £20. it was overexamination good value and hard to think that we could get so much for so little. in a comparable iondon establishment would cost a afternoon as this probably at least £35 to £40. the selection of the fingersandwiches was delicious and included standard fillings such as gurke, sink, ei and water circles. the scenes were quite seductive, as they presented us an appealing texture. the outer was crispy and the interieur was soft. warm stuffed, the scones went floating with the dipped cream and delicious homemade skyberry jam. to the sweet things (my favorite part of a afternoon,) and on the top level of the tablet there were some beautiful pink meringue sandwiches lined with rosen water chantilly cream. these were delicate and as light as spring, and the combination with the cream was a good one. also on the top level was a zesty orange flower and vanille panna cotta sown with Indian orange blossom water and with fresh orange cest, popping sweets and a berry jelly. the jelly was particularly delicious as he was very fruity and helped to lift the panna cotta. the popping sweets was also a good note and gave the panna cotta an exciting twist. the panna cotta itself had a good consistency, but needed a little more vanilla for more taste. to move on the floor, and we really enjoyed the dark chocolate breweries as these were decadent and rich with an intense chocolate-y quality. the lavender sprocket was buttery and light, and the homemade makkarons of beet root and berry with a vanilla buttercream frosting filling were very welcoming. the macaron dishes were a little dense in the texture, but the taste combinations were a joy and were a joy to eat. a pistachio viktoriaschwamm came with a fabulous rose blossom jam center that really lifted the sponge with its sweet and exciting nature. it was a wonderful combination, and the sponge itself had a nice taste, although it was a touch dry. the themes for the afternoon tea on the white lion will change with the time as chef anmar constantly seeks new ideas and brings colorful inventions to the table. but is sure that every afternoon tee will be very pleasant. unique, colorful and funny, the pastries we tried were inviting to eat and showed solid technology. her creativity demonstrated the artistic and originality in her design. the sandwiches and skorn were also very good, and at a ridiculously reasonable price of £20 per head, the white lion showed that it is doing really well in the afternoon. I calculate today afternoon tee with 3.75/5"
