"Stayed two nights and it cost £180 which wasn’t weren’t the money. Our room was at the front so was noisy from traffic and customers having drinks underneath our bedroom window. The bedroom was basic with a very small tv and the bathroom was not very good. The shower was slow and took a while to adjust the temperature to get it right because it came on to hot all the time. The nets on the window had mould on, light above the sink didn’t work, the toilet seat was loose. We didn’t get our room cleaned at all so no fresh towels/shampoo/coffee/ tea or milk and had to ask for more. The breakfast finished at 9.30 so felt rushed to get up early to get it. Other hotels serve until 10. Our evening meal was nice but it was served on a chopping board which was ridiculous as some of my food was falling on the table. Stupid idea to serve it that way, what’s wrong with a plate. Had to vacate the room by 10 where other hotels it’s 11. Wouldn’t go back again and far to expensive when it’s not worth it. Rooms: Not very good at all"

"We were lucky enough to have our wedding at this incredible hotel. The day was really perfect, we had great communication from the events team from initial booking to leading up to our day. Helping us create a vision, plans and ideas of what we wanted. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a romantic chilled wedding. The hotel itself is STUNNING, the spa is great and food so delicious. We will be coming back for many anniversaries."

"This is the most fabulous place. We loved it. We are a group of friends staying for a weekend at Mawgan Porth.. and after a lovely walk along the coast path on Sunday afternoon popped in, hoping we could just get a drink but thought that might not be welcome being a Sunday lunchtime and not wanting to eat. Well.... we needn't have worried. They could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Gave us a massive table all together (with the dog... and gave her biscuits)... and of course... one drink became several.... and we then decided we would have some small plates of food too. The food was fabulous... the service and friendliness exceptional. Highly recommend and thank you Gareth and the team for a great time. Vegetarian options: I had the mushroom soup. "The chippy has a captive audience thanks to the stunning and busy location at Mawgan Porth, but also lack of other [affordable] ammenities. The place has limited opening hours considering it 's location and it gets busy. Really busy. I don 't see an issue with queing to order then queing again to collect food. It 's an efficient way of serving large volunes of people, but for Christ sake on a busy bank holiday why cook everything to order which slows the service? The food is ok. We had burgers and chips so can 't comment on freshness of fish, but given the wait for our food to be cooked you 'd think it would be good yet the chips looked and tasted like they had been reheated and cooked in beef fat (edit: as we have since discovered everything is cooked in animal fats. A side note to the owners should they bother to read these reviews is to make customers aware you use animal fats as we had both vegan and vegetarians in our party who would not have ordered had they been aware of this. We now know it is mentioned on the website which isn 't useful when signal around the beach is non existant). The burgers were dry and over cooked, curry sauce was sweet and full of raisins (we specifically asked if it contained fruit and was told it didn 't which was why we ordered), the mushy peas were slightly watery so although prices seem reasonable the quality of food is not. Honestly, you have to be pretty useless to run a mediocre chipy at a seaside location. Just because the majority of your client base are visitors doesn 't mean you can get away with serving substandard food. Some of us are local and won 't be returning. To top it off they want you to pay 'cash only ' when there are no nearby cash points and they actually have a [secret] card machine which indicates they don 't declare all their earnings."
