"AMAZING FOOD! I ordered the vegetarian pho with tofu and veggie chicken (which was delicious and the portion size was huge! This bowl is bigger than my head. Their menu prices have gone up slightly compared to another photo you might find in reviews but it is still great prices for great food and lovely service, staff went out of their way for me and made sure to say goodbye even when they were enjoying their own lunch! Would recommend, even the coffee was lovely :"

"My wife and I have always loved Lily 's, unfortunately we have seen another side to this place recently. On Saturday, September 23rd, we were in the Alexander next door to the restaurant. Knowing they close at 10pm, we attempted to get in at bang on 9pm but were told no-one was allowed in after 9, it was 9pm, but we weren 't going to argue the point so we went elsewhere. Then again, tonight 21/10/2023, we decided we wouldn 't make that mistake again, so we went at 7:45pm. OK, we hadn 't booked, but thought they 'd be able to squeeze us in. We asked for a table for three people, but were told, as we hadn 't booked, we couldn 't go in. I looked around the room and there seemed to be a few empty table. Anyway we left the premises, then decided we 'd go back in and get takeaway. While we were waiting in the queue at the takeaway section, we were shocked to hear the lady on the door, tell a group of four people, who asked for a table and hadn 't pre-booked, Yes, we can squeeze you in! What the heck is that all about? Discrimination against football fans? We weren 't drunk or unruly, so why the prejudice?"

"The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. They have a fantastic wine selection and a wonderful atmosphere. However, I felt that the prices for the food were not entirely justified considering the portion sizes. I would definitely return for the drinks, exceptional service, friendly staff, and enjoyable ambiance."

"Friendly welcome, seated straight away. We arrived about 10 minutes before the rest of our party and our drinks order was taken immediately. As soon as the rest of our party arrived, drinks order was taken at once and we were also asked did we want popodoms etc. popodoms arrived with spiced onion, mango chutney, yoghurt and mint dip plus a fresh herb tomatoes and onion dip, which was delicious. Two of our party wanted curries that were specific to their tastes and the waiter gave their wishes to the chefs and they both said their curries were fantastic. The rest of us ordered specials off the menu and they were all excellent. The Peshawari Nan was knock out good. The chilli paneer started was superb. 10 out of 10. If we are ever in the area again, we would revisit."

"The dining area now resembles more of a diner, having lost its tablecloths and appearing a bit more sterile. It no longer has that special touch it once did. They brought our wine and simply left it on the table rather than pouring it as they used to. Additionally, they took away our side plates before our starter arrived, and I had to ask for them back to use. While the food was decent, I noticed the portion sizes have shrunk a bit. What really disappointed me was my attempt to purchase several gift vouchers for family as Christmas gifts. The waitress seemed excited about this and promised to send the manager over to assist, but when she returned, I was informed that I needed to pay in cash. I didn’t have nearly £300 in cash on me, and I’m unsure if this is standard policy or if there's a valid reason behind it. Unfortunately, they missed out on a nearly £300 sale simply because they wouldn’t accept a card payment."
