The Old Black Lion - Piatti

Short review...if you don't visit old black lion at Gedney...you are definitely missing out on a first class eating experience. I can't cast my mind back to anywhere better...I'm just about to ring up now and book a table again!!!

Perhaps they need a few weeks to get their act together but the Neal we had last night (Saturday) took over an hour and a half before it arrived and then it was truly awful. Hope things improve answer used to really like going there.

Always get a walm welcome when going to the old black lion pub, great atmosphere with darts or a game of pool. Tried the food today and was beautifully cooked, definitely recommend anyone near the area to visit the pub and enjoy a few pints. Visualizza piatti

An unremarkable interior behind an attractive Georgian facade. Welcomed warmly without a booking for Sunday lunch. Meat and vegetables excellent including the potatoes , always a challenge for the creators of Roasts. Friendly and efficient service.

Had sunday lunch here many a time and never disappointed. All the food is locally sourced, all home cooked and the servings are plentiful. Its affordable, in a small quaint old pub and when deciding where to go on a sunday, we often end up here knowing we will not be disappointed

Stopped here for a lunch time drink and found a friendly welcome. The food prices are very reasonable and will be eating here soon. Very good price for two large glasses of wine. We eat and drink out a lot and so have plenty of experience of pubs and restauarants to match up to. Plenty of parking outside. Give it a try soon. Visualizza piatti

Went for dinner last Saturday with friends, first visit and not disappointed.Food was fantastic, hubbie had 8hr cooked belly pork which he said was the best he has ever tasted, friends had fish n chips which was delicious whilst I had a steak which was also superb.The staff are fantastic, can't praise them highly enough.Would recommend booking in advance. We got there at 19.20 and the place was full!

Had a lovely meal to celebrate my birthday...the best prawn cocktail I have had and a great lasagne. I liked the fact there were an adequate amount of chips and not excessive...let's face it, if there are too many, you leave them then sit and pick at them ..well, I do! But portions were just right and we really enjoyed our evening and the service of the guy on duty was attentive and made us feel special...after all it's nice to feel special if you go out isn't it.

We arrived here as we were passing through from Whitby to our home in Norwich.Its was 2.15pm on the Sunday before Christmas when we arrived so first question was are you still doing food After some deliberation we were told no as they had cleared everything away. They must have been chomping at the bit at 2pm to do this we thought. Never mind can we have a sandwich or a bowl of soup or anything as we were weary travellers.
