"my wife and I spend about 3 months in northumberland, visit a series of beauty spots, historical sites and equally important to look for great restaurants. our internet research and talks with locals led us to the old boat house in...Amble to lunch. the location of the restaurant (right on the coast) and near a series of interesting huts that houses a lot of objects was immediately attractive. this was given by entering into the restaurant and a very warm welcome by the staff and a table directly on the harbour. all very positiw, but this was just the prelude for some amazing food. we chose the common seafood plate – a huge wooden tablet with a whole lobster, perfectly cooked sea crumbs, lindisfarne oysters, roll mop herings, smoked makrele, hot cold smoked salmon, shetland mussels and delicious broken fish goujons roy pawns with delicious freshly baked freshly baked we would have stopped (should) after this amazing display of delicious food, but we ended the order of desserts – they were also delicious and glad that we did not leave. we can recommend a visit to the old boat house for a culinary extravaganza!"

Unassuming place in the harbour area. really good seafood and for those who don't like the amazing fish and chips there are alternatives. Staff friendly though it was around 30 mins from order to serving.

We had a meal on Saturday night, my brother in law and sister in law had come up for the bank holiday weekend from Devon, we were very lucky to get a table as it was really busy, thank you Claire for your help. The...food and service was excellent from beginning to the end, excellent choice of fish dishes and a very good choice of specials, we will definitely be back.

We stumbled across The Old Boathouse whilst mooching in Amble. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, loads of choice of seasonal specials and very fresh food. Also offers pizzas, chicken and steak. The seafood steamer went down very well and the raspberry and white chocolate crème brûlée was...the best we've had in ages. Would definitely recommend although I should imagine it gets very busy at peak times.

this is our preferred choice for a fish restaurant in amble. and, as usual, our menu item of lunch was a beginner of brot and oliven, followed by a chowder. After traveling quite far in the coastal towns of massachusetts and new england, we can easily say that the taste and quality of the chowder of the fishing boat is better than what we ate in America. we look forward to the return when we are next in the opposite.

to stay in amble for the weekend, we cooked for Saturday night. beautiful view of the mouth. the staff was very friendly and helpful. my nabeby had the scallops with black pudding for starter while I had the mackerel pate, note that it was a big one. is part with a little cloby brot. we both ordered the crab salad for the net. the sald was beautifully dressed. we're done with Limo coffee. the bill was very reasonable and includes a 10% service fee. a visit worth living near

Smart , modern restaurant right on harbourside with great views. Greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table by the window. Menu is a fish lovers dream with a specials blacboard. Very reasonably priced. Good choice of ales , cider , wines and spirits.... Our starters of salt and chilli squid and pickled herrings came beautifully presented and were delicious , as were our mains of beer battered fish and chips and the South Shields crab salad. Would certainly go back if in area and would recommend to anyone looking for a good fish restaurant.

we had arrived here a few times for a drink before eating and the staff was all very friendly and helpful. we could finally fit into a meal and it was absolutely fantastic! the longustine was more fantastic for the amount of food they got. the gluten-free fish and chips were also excellent and beautiful to have the opportunity available. an earlier evening we had only one cheese, as we had eaten elsewhere, the cheese board had a big choice and there was more than enough for two to share. all round wonderful experience with great food and fantastic service.

we threw ourselves into the water when we had not visited yet. we had a walk to the village harbour and it was nice. Fortunately, little shops came to end, but we saw that there was open here to eat and thought we would let it go. sat outside when we had the dog out with whom they were satisfied. ordered koks, fit n chips and steak. everything was great that we really enjoyed it. they were slow, but I think they were busy, so we had to hunt them up to pay, and there were £50 for 2 meals and 2 coks, which is a little steep, also involved with a steak. the location is great, although the sun broke through, it was wonderful through the water.
