"Visited several times due to location however also had a very good meal. The pub is located next to Lacock Abbey and has a very good under cover seating area. As we had bicycles this was great as we could leave the cycles next to the table. The pub is not big inside but with the outside area there is plenty of seating. There is a car park next door but this is owned by the National Trust so would check if there are any charges. The food was very good and reasonably priced. However drinks varied in price but as with many places in tourist areas costed between £14 to £19. Nearby activities: Situated next to Lacock Abbey and the lovely village of Lacock which has been used in many films such as Harry Potter."

we always get a good, friendly service here, especially if we take our dog. Eating is traditional pub food that they do really well. also light bites are available.

Absolutely fantastic service and food. The waiting staff informed us that the head chef is called Andy and he makes the world go round. Outstanding food. What a legend. Could do with a hair cut though. AAA

really excellent service, nice room, clean. well equipped bathroom and tea/coffee in the room. a few niggers with the food I shared with the staff well treated. it is a new kitchen team and hard to get personal, so understandable. Don't leave you here!

on a day when most restaurants were closed after Christmas, we found the red lions for our first visit. fantastic greeting, help to find a table in a busy restaurant/bar. with a front of the house/bar supervisor who knew his job. the menu is typical gastropub tariff, properly cooked and the service excellent. we're going back. joe 90point5

We were initially impressed by the menu at this restaurant, but were ultimately let down by the quality of the food. I ordered half a chicken with a bean salad, and while the salad was passable, it tasted like it came straight from a can. The chicken was overcooked and supposedly marinated, but lacked any discernible flavor. Overall, our group agreed that the food was subpar and we would not recommend this restaurant.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
