"Sunday roast to really scream. 1. visit the royal oak pub today in pett. we always try somewhere else for a roast lunch when we are near hastings on Sunday. we booked a table with ease this morning! when we arrived at roast at 15.00, the parking was almost empty 2 points! well, we did not need to fear that the staff was beautiful and courteous and that was enormous I had the toasted lungs of pork with apricots and apfel stuffing him in the interiors for lamb. both meals came out with yorkshire puddings the cheeks she had made new her mother I could go on, but I won't. beware to the chief and kitchen staff for providing the "best "sunday roast in this neck of the forest...10/10 bier choice excellent and a real pub with charming pub garden to shoe (it was the jubileee weekend and always where outside in the sticks was quiet)"

Great pub with lovely garden and we had a fantastic cheese board. Good wine selection and a great local cider on tap.

Went today, again, with family. Lovely food, so much of it too. A really nice little pub, helpful staff and good value for money. Will return soon.

Staff were super friendly! Food was great, and they were very accommodating with changes to meals. Cosy pub, nice outside area also! Would go again!

beautiful traditional pub, frequent beer change to keep it interested and a very inviting menu on the board disassembled. unfortunately we cannot comment on eating, we did not eat there, but willing to return to the opposite without asking.

I have booked a table in the restaurant for my parents 50th high season and the eating and personal were fantastic. the light engravings as starters were all huge portions and the net were also very large with a huge selection of specials. we can get the thai curry, the steak, scampi, ham, all fish on the special menu, all very cheap with a nice selection of drinks.

We were searching for a good pint of Harvey's after a day's bird watching at Rye Harbour and Pett Level. We gambled on the Royal Oak ... and won! What a lovely pub! The Harvey's Best Bitter £4.50) was crystal clear and highly refreshing a great pint. It's a traditional pub with low, wooden beamed ceilings very cosy. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the pub seems popular with the locals. We just missed the Sunday serving of food, which ended at 5pm, but there were some free roast potatoes on the counter! Will visit again when in the vicinity.

I recently visited the Royal Oak for the second time since it changed ownership. The new owners also run the Queen's Head in Icklesham. My first visit was decent, with a 3-4 star experience, but this time was outstanding and I would give it a definite 5 stars. We tried the cod loin with pancetta and the brill with scallops, both of which were excellent. The banoffee pie dessert was also delicious. The service was quicker and just as friendly as before. Plus, they serve a nice pint of Harveys. Overall, it was a great meal and the nearby Two Sawyers should be concerned.
