"The Rodney in itself hasn't changed much from the good old days if you're staying for a drink, but the food is absolutely abysmal. 1.30pm had run out of roast dinners, although the kitchen staff didn't realise this until we had ordered, paid and waited 20 minutes. Half the menu wasn't available either in alternative. Should have gone elsewhere at this point as food arrived was a disgrace. 10oz horseshoe gammon was like a slice of bacon, chicken was rubbery and dry and vegetables were cooked within an inch their lives. Everything was bland had very little flavour. One member of our party didn't have a meal at all after returning it, we all would have returned it if we hadn't already waited about an hour for it to arrive and my 2yr old was hungry and board. Appalling, won't be going back for food ever again."

"We thought that we would treat the family to an evening meal here and the food was very good, well presented, tasty and fairly priced, as were the drinks. However, the front of house staff provided a very disappointing standard of service. We waited 35...minutes for our plates to be cleared and then had to ask for the dessert menu. Initially, the team were busy taking selfies, texting or brushing their hair behind the bar. After twenty minutes, I went up to the bar and it was like the Marie Celeste, no sign of life! Another ten minutes, same issue! Eventually, I managed to attract attention before we became fossilized permanent fixtures of this establishment but this was a good meal spoiled. There were only three tables to serve, so goodness knows what it's like when it's busy......"

The owners are so lovely and welcoming… Plus the restaurant itself is just adorable with its decor… Don’t really want to shout about it as we want to keep this place a secret so we can get a table but you must try this wonderful and very special restaurant…"

"Set in a very large garden centre it 's even has faux outdoor seating under the garden centres main canopy roof. The food is very good indeed mostly consisting of snacks and cream cheese it 's a simple menu but I would definitely recommend the bacon and brie warm baguette. Also some great cakes lots of different coffee options, tea etc. If you have your dog use the outdoor area which has some lovely sofa style seating and if I 'm not mistaken I think there 's also a doggy menu... or at the very least some doggy ice cream. Cafe is Garden Centre prices but you wouldn 't expect any different and you 'll definitely enjoy the visit"

"A hidden gem in a wonderful setting. The menu changes seasonally and is built around on local ingredients, so not everything is always available. This was also the case during our visit and the chef herself came to discuss possible vegan options for us, what was so nice and respectful. While the menu seems simple, don't be fooled. This was one of the best dishes I have eaten in years. I order a burger with a salad and the whole dish was amazing. The quality of the ingredients is the highest quality and the way the chef seasoned the dish was out of this planet. The dessert was just as delicious, the service was very polite and friendly and the prices for such great food are really fair. If I would live closer, I would like to eat at the Crew Yard bistro every day."
