"I made a reservation for Sunday lunch for my wife and me, along with two friends who were visiting from London. Unfortunately, our experience at the restaurant was a complete disaster. We waited for over half an hour at our table before someone finally came to take our drink and meal orders, only after I had to get up and call a server over. When our main courses were finished, our table was cleared except for my wife's empty plate. The waiter said he would return to collect it and provide dessert menus, but no one came back. It wasn't until I spoke to a staff member at the bar that we were finally able to order dessert. The restaurant staff seemed to be inexperienced teenagers who were unsupervised and more interested in hanging out at the bar than attending to the tables. This type of customer service is unacceptable, and leaving unsupervised teenagers to serve diners is not a good way to encourage repeat business. Because of this unpleasant dining experience, especially in front of our friends, we will not be returning to Seamill House the next time they visit. Instead, we will be dining at the Hydro, where the staff is trained and supervised, and have a better understanding of what customer service should be."

"Went here for christmas dinner.Paid £70 a head.Starter was not to bad the soup was tasteless.Had traditional Turkey but it tasted like cheap turkey out of iceland. The pigs in bllankets where pale not even crispby bacon.Never had pudding as the last course put me right off.Just lets say it was no where near £70 a head more like 3 course for a tenner.Wont be in a hurry to go back"

"From when we entered the welcome was poor young girl never said a thing ! We asked for a table for three and was bluntly told with a pointed finger to sit over there. She then brought menus over still no communication and dropped menus on the edge of the table and walked away the first words we got was when she took our order so from then we felt uncomfortable and as if we shouldn't have entered the building. The breakfast was average but hey it's everyone to their own taste my only problem was I like my tea or coffee with my breakfast and not before because when my breakfast comes my tea is cold. Price wise is it worth the money my opinion no had better for a lot less money. My first time there but sorry it will be my last."

"During our stay at the hotel, we dined at the bar for breakfast and dinner on our first night. We enjoyed the delicious madras curry and a couple of glasses of champagne. The breakfast atmosphere was relaxed and not too crowded, with fresh orange juice provided on all tables as a nice touch. The cooked breakfast was excellent, especially the flavorful haggis. Service was impeccable and the staff was friendly. The only downside was that the drinking water provided was heavily treated and not suitable for consumption, although this was not the case in other areas of the hotel."

"Superb eatery. Food was all perfectly prepared the prices were extremely good value considering the quality of ingredients and portion size. We ordered 3 tapas and 3 starters between us and had to ask for a takeaway tub to take what we couldbt finish (and we were very hungry on arrival! We were both surprised by how full we got and think it was to do with the high quality of the ingredients and meat especially. Get the halloumi fries!! When we walked in a couple were leaving with a takeaway tub themselves and said hope you 're hungry, it 's amazing so we arent the only ones impressed. The decor and ambience is wonderful. Cosy and clean, really comfortbale seats are always appreciated. Service was exceptional: hosted by a warm and energetic young man and a young waitress: both were helpful attentive and friendly, kind enough to take the time to talk to us. Oh, and the desserts were droolworthy... we had toffee popcorn sundae and brownie sundae, both were delicious. Again, generous portions, top quality ingredients and clearly prepared with pride. Thanks and highest compliments to the chef. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. 4 minute drive from the Seamill Hydro hotel, open late and on Sundays. Exceptional value for the portions, quality of ingredients, service and ambience. Thank you for a lovely meal. Parking: Right by train station and restaurant, free and plentiful."
