The White Swan - Menu

The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and very tasty. I would definitely come back and recommend it to my family and friends.

During our visit to the area, my husband and I decided to make a reservation at The White Swan. I must say, the staff was very attentive, the food was incredible and clearly made fresh, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. We will definitely be returning. Well done, White Swan!

went to york to watch the football and needed some place to stay ! prices in york are quite high but found this lovely little pub/b and b just out side of york about 10 mins in a taxi.rooms are well priced,clean and very comfortable.it has recently got new owners,who we found were very helpful and friendly.breakfast is an extra £10 but great value for money.if im in the area would stay here again !

Needed a last minute stopover for access to York. Dead easy to book, dead easy to find. Got in just after time for food, but they prepared to order anyway. Staff are friendly, efficient and made us very comfortable. Clean room, food was fine problem only that the quantities were generous! Attractive pricing, ten minutes out from the city a perfect spot for what we were after. Definitely a thumbs up from us.

Lovely cosy pub and the room was great for us and our dogs. The food wasn’t great. Not as described as on the menu. Prawn cocktail described with cucumber and wedge of lemon and brown bread. There was no cucumber or lemon and it came with white bread. The loaded fries were anything but loaded with hardly any pulled pork. When I questioned where the crispy onions and chives were as stated on the menu the lady said she didn’t know and made no attempt to find out. I would stay there again but eat elsewhere

Luckily I'm not a person who judges from a review. But having seen a recent review which was amongst loads of good ones I thought I would give it a try. My self and my partner both had chicken supreme burgers, they was absolutely gorgeous. Served with fries on mine and upgraded to sweet potato fries for Michelle, both with burger sauce and a jug of chicken gravy. Would definitely recommend. Pleasant experience with friendly staff who when you talk to can have banter with, we called in at 545pm and didn't end up leaving till 1045pm.

We visited this restaurant while staying at the Parsonage Hotel, just a short walk down the road. Despite it not being well lit in the winter, it was only a 15-minute walk away. The food was delicious, with plenty of options for vegetarians. I chose the 3 bean chili, which was really tasty, and my husband had the fish and twice-cooked chips, which were also excellent. The staff were friendly, and we were particularly impressed by the chef who came to talk to us, informed us of unavailable ingredients, and asked for our opinions after the meal. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Very unhappy unfriendly experience, food was burnt and not served as advertised on menu when we asked they knew nothing about it, chicken burgers come with burger sauce no only 1 person got this as they ran out but didn’t tell us until we asked knew nothing about it coming with chicken gravy had to show them the menu to which they replied oh we don’t have any! The plates didn’t get cleared away for the whole time we were there despite moving our plates eventually onto another table and the pub being very quiet only a few locals in didn’t check or ask if our food was ok then on leaving didn’t say bye or thank you! Stayed here for a few days for a get-away with my wife, we enjoyed how close the location was to York and how affordable it was for a long weekend-esque break away, £150 for three nights for a couple offer perfect opportunity to experience as much of York as you wish, or explore the surrounding areas. The staff there are lovely people, treating you more like a friend than anything else, very welcoming and free with their smiles. We only had breakfast on one of the days, it was £10 each person, the English breakfast was a good size, came out in good time, with cereal, tea and fruit juices on the side if you wanted them. The rooms had a homely feel to me due to the decor so I may be biased her...
