Hi First of all great staff very friendly. Starters we ordered tempura soft shell crab and salt and pepper squid, great really enjoyed them. Main we ordered the same crab linguine we enjoyed it but it didn’t mention cream which made it a bit too...heavy I would have preferred to have had it with a good quality olive oil ,in the future I would certainly request it be made without cream.

We visited the Seafood Shack at the Thomas Tripp pub last night for a birthday meal and we were absolutely impressed! The beachy decor made us feel so relaxed, the service was attentive, especially Sheila who was fabulous. My partner and I had the warm...sharing platter and it was huge! Delicious fish, it was so fresh with light batter! We do have quite high standards for eating out and the Seafood Shack truly deserves a great review. We had a wonderful time and already booked to go back!

Last night tried The Seafood Shack for the first time, the service provided by Matt was amazing. The food was gorgeous, we shared a starter sized mussels to start with, this was a perfect size and very tasty, main course we opted for steak ..beautiful! The atmosphere was perfect, we were placed inside and had a huge table for the of us. Matt made us feel very welcome and ensured we had everything we needed and checked that our food was ok. Very surprised to hear it was his first night, you would never of known that. We will definitely be returning again soon.

This restaurant was booked for a night out with a group of friends. I’d not heard of it beforehand, but what a find it is definitely recommend hope to revisit. The Seafood Shack is in a separate room next to The Thomas...Tripp at the back of the outdoor seating area. It is fairly small decorated in an almost Alpine Restaurant style (think lots of pine) it does though create a very cosy comfortable atmosphere. Everyone food around the table was all excellent with everyone saying they would like to go again would recommend. Compliments to the staff too who were welcoming very friendly. Excellent value for money too.

Can’t nock the service from the staff but they’ve got huge problems in the kitchen. Went for a meal Friday night. The starters, tempura vegetables very nice, amount of Whitebait disappointing, quality disappointing. For main we ordered the hot seafood sharing platter, Mussels like rubber,...Calamari like rubber, quality of fish poor. I would say that every element was a frozen product. They seemed over whelmed by the volume of people in the pub. Starters took over forty minutes. The table behind were offered a complimentary bottle of wine as their order was so delayed. Such a shame as the decor etc is brilliant but the food is the worst I’ve had in years.

All in all, pretty chaotic, but it seems from other reviews we might just have been there on a bad night. The food is ok, although I have a feeling it might have been hanging around for a while before it was served to us....The main issue was service, with long waits for the main course (punctuated by being asked if we fancied dessert) and a bill which continually seemed to have things we hadn't ordered popping up on it. The lady in charge did seem to be doing an admirable job dealing with everyone, the issue is clearly a lack of trained staff on. Having been to the Isle of Wight and been massively disappointed with the “seafood” we had had there (frozen calamari and prawns) we had been craving some lovely fresh seafood so we found this little gem! I am so glad we did!! We went for...classic fresh oysters and white bait for starters. I’ve never had oysters so HUGE or fresh they were stunning! The whitebait also lovely. The moules mariniere with chips were really good. Massive portions of the mussels the only down point were the chips standard out the bag frozen chips.
