"We were only in the area 3 days and we went there on 2 occasions. That should tell you how good this pub is. On Saturday evening we had a meal there and was blown away by how tasty and generous the meal portions were. We ordered fish and chips and the rib eye steak. The batter on the fish was crispy and light. The steak was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The serving staff were rushed off their feet but still nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly and efficient. Their own brewed ale was a perfect accompaniment to the food. We had a lovely stay in Bishop's Castle and the Three Tuns Inn was a highlight. Had we had a longer stay I have no doubt we would have paid it at least one more visit!"

Three empty plates, three empty glasses. Tells our story perfectly. Attentive staff and dog friendly. We loved our lunch and drinks, all hit the spot perfectly.

Great food, great service. Feels like a proper pub with excellent range of drinks but also does a good traditional menu. Tried the burger and the risotto. Both good.

Even I n the midst of a pandemic the quality of the food and local (from the brewery next door) was most excellent. The to die for lamb hot pot was simply melt in the mouth and faggots I would highly recommend as the best I have ever tasted. The warming stove gave us the opportunity to undertake our research of the local history in absolute comfort. Highly recommend a visit

The Three Tuns is the outlet of one of England’s oldest breweries and as you can imagine serves some good own brand beers, brewed in Bishops Castle. My favourite was the Triple X but there’s a wide range to choose from. There is a good range of dishes and I chose the Chick Pea and Spinach curry from the specials board which was freshly made and very tasty with ample sides of rice and pitta bread. Definitely recommended for both food and drink.

We were able to secure a table on short notice at this restaurant. The beer served here is fantastic, as it is brewed on site. The food menu offered a variety of options, and our group tried the fish and chips, sausage and mash, and burger, all of which were delicious with generous portion sizes. For dessert, we tried the salted caramel cheesecake and brownie, both of which were also tasty. The service was efficient and friendly, and the Covid safety measures were good. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return to this restaurant.

Nice place for a dog friendly bite to eat. Food was good it was more the service which let it down. A young girl seemed to be running around doing a fabulous job of taking orders, delivering food and generally making sure people were ok, while also helping a chap out with how to use the ordering system. The issue was with only her doing this, and there were a lot of people in, it was slow. I think it took about 15 minutes for someone to ask what drinks we want 30-40 for someone to take the order. The food was nice however when it came. The table, round one in a corner, was too big for the space and so you ended up whacking your knees if you went in and out. We'd go back though if we were in...

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."
