"The Garlic Salt Squid was one of the worst squid dishes I've ever eaten. Tiny circles of squid so dry that it was like trying to eat rubber bands only less elastic. I'm used to eating chillies but one piece caused me significant distress. For nearly 10 minutes, I could hardly talk. A terrible dish but I didn't want to complain at the time because I didn't want to put a downer on the evening for my wife and friends. Very poor value for money. The best Thai around Southampton in a very nice small village. Excellent fresh made curry with fish and lots of other dishes with good balanced flavors. Next time i'm back in the country, I will be eating here more. "We had a fantastic time dining at this restaurant! The food exceeded our expectations! We had the Parma ham wrapped Fig with goats cheese and walnut salad and tuna steak and pork loin mains finished with a delicious dark chocolate tart. The staff were attentive and great at wine pairing the dessert wine was lovely. After we had left a bag behind, this was kindly caught us walking back and returned it to us : Service: Dine in"

"Had a roast here, was very nice. Only down side was we looked at the menu online to see they did Turkey, but when we arrived they didn't have any. a little bit disappointed as we picked this pla e for the Turkey Roast. Had the beef instead and it was lovely. My partner had the Lamb which was also tender and lovely. Will definitely be back again, hopefully when they are serving Turkey . Price per person: £40–50"

"Staying locally at Holmsley Campsite and decided to try The Three Tuns for Sunday Lunch. Booked online which was easy and guaranteed us a table. Lovely quaint thatched cottage/pub. Nice decor, very clean, with lovely atmosphere! Staff, excellent, happy, attentive! Sunday lunch we both opted for roast pork, comes with an apple/mustard gravy, pork stuffing, cracking, roast and mashed potatoes. Roasts were a little hard around the edges (maybe kept warm too long post cooking). Was disappointed when a very small dish of accompanying veg arrived I asked is this for one? Was told no it’s for two! Cauli cheese, braised red cabbage, carrots and mange tout. Lovely! Then got vegetable envy when table next to us had their veg arrive and realised we had be denied an adult portion! Did have a laugh with the lovely waitress who did apologise and offer us more veg but we had already cleared our plates! Can fully recommend both puddings we enjoyed the ice cream is BEAUTIFUL, locally produced in the New Forest! I enjoyed a lovely syrup sponge with home made custard. Was delicious! Would we return yes please!"

"We decided on a whim to take the motorhome down to Dorset for the weekend but hadn’t booked anywhere to stop over. We called in for dinner at the Carpenters arms. Lin and Steve were really friendly and the staff were all amazingly helpful. The food was delicious and all home made. My wife had the butternut squash wellington with roast potatoes and veg. The meal was hot, filling and deliciously tasty. I had salmon fillet and sauté potatoes. The salmon was a decent sized portion and also very tasty. Deserts were also decent size very tasty and again home made. The landlord and all the staff were extremely friendly and prices were very reasonable. We ate in the bar area which is very nice and dog friendly. There is also a large outdoor area which seemed very nice too. (Forgot to take the customary food photos, sorry!"

"Lovely, quaint and quirky cafe in the middle of the high street!! Went in to Poppins and chose it over the two cafes we passed because of the booth seating (which was very comfortable! Ordered two BLT baguettes and a couple of drinks, reasonably priced and very tasty!! Service was great, staff were very attentive! Will definitely come in again when we are down this way next as we are only on holiday for the weekend. Meal type: Lunch"
