"Two stars are pretty generous. One for the frame, friendly and comfortable, one for the service that is not bad. The problem really lies in the food served: if the choice is wide and seems apt, none of the 4 dishes we ordered was good, 2 of them were infamous. The pizza dough is sweet, lasagna are both too salty and sweet. Without appearing full of prejudices, I suppose that Dutch, American and English tourists are sensitive to excess sugar and that putting it everywhere is a way to conquer this clientele more easily. Excess sugar is probably a way to hide the poor quality of the ingredients used. I didn't think it was possible to miss a chorizo pizza, but the above-mentioned chorizo was not even well cooked, in addition to being sweet. It is possible that desserts are good, but we have not tested them. Good wine. In conclusion, a film catcher at the neat presentation. Don't go to eat!"

The best restaurant in Val Thorens! I'm surprised it has such a bad reviews on Yelp, but amazing ratings on Google!? Definitely worth going there. Need to make a booking in advance though as it's a tiny place, but super busy (which says everything!!

We took the chicken wok to the almonds. It was delicious, well seasoned, good quantity and correct price for Val Tho. The welcome was pro, friendly and fast service. The place is bright and pleasant. I hope I have the opportunity to eat there next time.

I've been to L'Auberge twice in two years now, both times the food has been good and not too unreasonable for a ski resort. Situated at the top of Val Thorens, Les Balcons is almost a little resort in itself. Inside there is a lot of wood, some ski related paraphernalia and a bit of tat. The food was great, snails (tender and garlicky) followed by a cheese fondue and a meat fondue we all had to share the love! Other items on the menu include steaks, pizza and traditional Savoyard cuisine. Service was friendly but slow, this was made up for by a surprise for the birthday girl: ice cream with a sparkler/flare type thing. All in all, tasty and reasonably priced but probably not worth making the...
