"I'm embarrassed to admit that I should have written this review ages ago. I'm a regular at Sakura but I have wanted to keep the place a secret for myself but that is obviously not fair or sustainable. Fortunately the rest of the world doesn't think selfishly like me. What can I say about this place. Well lets start with the food. It's frankly the best Sushi I've ever had and I've done my fair share of travel. We moved to South Woodford 5 years ago and have previously used Wansteads Sumo Fresh until Sakura moved in. A tiny space on Hermon Hill I've watched it grow from a couple of people to over half a dozen and the quality and care have been maintained if not even excelled. Sakura ensure quality, if you have to wait for that quality then get over yourself, it's worth it. You get personal service each and everytime. I don't know how they do it but they know me by name and they look after me everytime."

"Visited TDH on a Sunday. Got seated immediately. We ordered a roast dinner platter with all the trimmings and lamb shoulder for £100. On the pricier side. This platter is good for 3 people. It was so delicious but slightly over oily. The cabbage and sprouts are to die for! The meat falls off the bone is tender and juicy. I ordered a champagne cocktail expecting it to be a bellini or something creative but it was underwhelming and literally a glass of sparkling wine with a brown sugar cube plopped at the bottom of the glass. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. They kept checking up on us to see if we needed anything if the food was good. Drink service was veryyyy slow. Interior is so pretty! I would go again to try their seafood; I've heard great things"

"If only I’d seen the owners reply to a bad review they got under their google reviews! Shockingly rude! A table was booked for 7.30pm tonight to celebrate an 18th Birthday, we pulled up it was closed! To see the look on these 4 girls faces, SHAME ON YOU!! Called no answer, finally answered by a rude man saying we open at 8! BS!!! You open at 6, no? As per your website? AVOID this place after the way they let down these young girls tonight, no sorry nothing! Thankfully Turquise in Loughton fitted them in at the last minute......ps. Now abuse me, be rude and call me a liar like you did the other bad review!!! NO STARS"

"We three gluttoneers invaded this delightful eatery to celebrate my wife 's, Angela 's birthday last Tuesday night, and it was better than great. We were welcomed into an inviting ambience of romantic lighting, light tiles and coloured walls, and shown to our favourite window table. Amidst the polite murmer of chat and laughter from diners already there, and the lovely background music, accompanied with a perfectly concocted Aperol Spritz and a Pornstar Martini, we made our selection from a varied menu, especially when you include their specials ' board. James, the proprietor extraodinaire, and the others made us feel right at home with the banter and laughter great. We soon made our selection. All three of us went for the Mango al Granchio; Nino 's do the best this side of Essex. There followed Involini Pescatrice, Saltimbocca Romana. and Linguini Gamberoni; all were faultlessly prepared and presented, and the flavour was astounding. This culinary perfection was baptised with a chilled Prosecco, and it truly woke your palate up. We then concluded this gastronomic extravaganza with a shared Apple Pie and ice cream with a surprise candle and team Nino 's singing 'Happy Birthday ' with their quirky horn wonderful. We finished off with a lemon tea, black Americano, Cappuccino, and black Sambucas plus complimentary ones from our gracious hosts grazie mille! Yet again, Nino 's have raised the benchmark in cuisine excellence, friendship, and laughter. Our compliments to the chefs in the 'hot room ' for their artistry and kind attention, and a huge 'thank you ' to all at Nino 's for an uplifting dining and birthday experience. "Three of us invaded this lovely eatery in Chingford on a busy Saturday night, and we weren 't disappointed. We were warmly greeted by Silvo and shown to our table. The decor remains unchanged: romantic lighting, light coloured walls, and prints of Italian locations. Armed with two Aperol Spritz, we perused their wide ranging menu, especially when you include their Specials ' board. Accompanied by welcoming background music and the polite chatter and laughter from other diners already there, we made our selection. Soon, Orazio joined us, and the chat and laughter began with Silvo and Orazio. Our starters consisted of Avocado and Prawns for two; and Avocado, Prawns, and crab for one, off their specials ' board. The freshness and flavour were outstanding. Our mains were as great, too. There was Lamb, fresh Tuna, both with sides; and one Linguine Marinara: all were presented and prepared to perfection. This was baptised with our traditional Primitivo: a full bodied red from Italy with a hint of sweetness and an appetising aroma. We gluttons then found room for dessert: profiteroles and ice cream; afrogato, and an apple pie drizzled off menu with Amaretto. These were delicious. We concluded this culinary perfection with an Americano, lemon tea, a cappuccino, and two black Sambucas. Plus, complimentary ones from our gracious hosts grazie mille, Silvo. It was truly a splendid dining experience. Our compliments to the chef for his artistry and friendliness, and a big 'thank you ' to all at La Baita for the chat, laughter, and superb cuisine.
