"What a surprise tonight! We went to this restaurant which was recommanded by friends. As a family already coming to the beautiful mendrisiotto for more than 30 years and having friends and relatives here we almost feel like being locals. We love to go out...for dinner and really appreciate the local cuisine therefore we happy to know a lot of the restaurants around. This place has been the best for many years of our experience here. The menu written on a blackboard was not too big, but consists of a very good variety of simple and promising dishes. The food was wonderful from starters to deserts! Also the recommodation of the local wines was far beyond expectation. The chef and his staff were very much caring and gave us the feeling to be at home. This cosy place, not too big but perfect size was the perfect place to finish our holifays. We only can give our best rates and highly recommand this place to people who love the fine and honest cuisine. We are very much looking forward to come back soon!"

Wir sind spontan für ein Mittagessen vorbeigegangen und wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis überragend. Das Highlight war der sehr freundliche Service der zwei Kellner.

our second time here the grotto offers a beautiful environment outside or in, good service and delicious dishes. makes for an unforgettable, special dinner. the homemade tortelloni with crab were amazing, the tomatensalat was excellent, among the best tomats I ever had. tender, fresh...gnocchi, delicious bruschetta. everything was right.

We had reserved a table for 2pm, as the website states that the restaurant is open from 11.45am to 2.30pm. When we arrived there at 2.08pm after a 40 minute drive, we were told that our reservation had been incorrectly noted as 12pm and that the kitchen closes at 2pm. So we were 8 minutes too late for the kitchen and the restaurant had made the wrong note of our reservation. No mercy, we were allowed to drive 40 minutes home again. Instead of writing on the homepage until when the restaurant is open, it would make sense to write that you can't get anything warm to eat after 2pm. We are completely disappointed and can't understand the arrogant behaviour of the waiter who turned us away. For u...
