"we visited the tyn y capel for the first time on Sunday since the takeover. the venue has an elevator and very tastefully decorated. we decided to eat up. we decided to try the Sunday roast and boy were not disappointed. from the beginning the food was well presented. happy and plentiful. the personal was beautiful and attentive and the prices very competitive with other top restaurants in wrexham. the sunday roast was a flowering bargain at £14.95 for 3 courses. we loved one of the starters so much (home made pate) we asked if we could buy some to take home. not a problem....4 beautiful portions bought and a bargain price. it is so nice to see this place that serves first-class food and it is certainly on my favorite list. we highly recommend the tyn y capel if they are good home cooked foods at cheap trips and personal that they treat well. thanks to the staff at our visit and the cook for making such wonderful home cooked food. cordial wish for our next visit."

"Two couples with a pre-booked table, first visit since pre Covid-19. We had starters, mains, deserts, drinks coffees. Food was average pub grub, unfortunately all hot food was served on cold plates. Menu is extensive, prices are reasonable. We were asked to pay for our starters, main course arrival drinks before our food was served. We were also asked to pay for the next round of drinks during our meal and before ordering desert. Nowhere on the menu did we see that payment was due at time of ordering and it is not what we expected to punctuate our evening out. Appreciated this requirement was not down to the table staff, who were very attentive and proficient, however this payment policy ruined the ambiance of our evening out and as a result although this is the closest functioning pub to our homes none of us will return."

"I had placed a booking and the staff immediately took us to our table and in fact gave us a choice as one of our party had a disability walker. We ordered drinks which were brought to us quickly and the staff allowed a good amount of time before taking our order. The meals arrived quickly considering the amount of people dining there last night. We were very pleased with the portion size and the presentation of the food. The staff were really attentive and nothing was too much trouble. After finishing our main meal we ordered desserts and coffee and were extremely pleased with the choices for both and they were brought to our table quickly. We were even more delighted with the bill and left a tip for the staff. Would definitely go again. Please pass on our best wishes to all the staff who served us last night and for making us feel so welcome. x"

"Walked in and the girl behind the bar (wearing a coat still) didn’t even aknowledge us…. Took our drink order at the bar when she got to us and pointed our table out. I ordered a soft drink, they’re all just cans. My partner ordered a pint, it smelt of wet dog. The menus are big chalk boards by the door, so you have to stand and squash between a door and the bar to read the menu. The menus are big and look absolutely great. Unfortunately it was better on paper than on the plate. Ordered starters, took 30 minutes to come out. I had garlic prawns, they were on garlic bread which was soggy in oil and grease. Not what I expected and it was horrible. My partner had chicken kebabs. It was literally a slither of chicken on a stick. It was so dry one half fell off when he touched it with a fork. Next we both ordered the steak, £30 each. Sirloin steak, all the trimmings, and a sauce. My steak was AWFUL covered in lumps of fat and tasted of leather. My partners wasn’t much better. I ordered the peppercorn sauce, it was yellow, like custard and made me feel physically sick. ‘All the trimmings’ was chopped mushrooms, onion rings (basically no onion just greasy batter) and a bowl of peas (between 2) and a bowl of chips (between 2) I couldn’t even eat mine so they did offer something else, which I declined so they took it off the bill, which I appreciated until we could hear them slagging us off in the kitchen pointing out that the other steak was fine…. Toilets dead flies on walls, and I thought the toilet was grey but it was dust. Restaurant cold, holes in wall, heater next to us splattered in grease and food. Staff ok but need a waitress to take orders and treat it like a restaurant when paying £30 for meals! It’s not cheap, seems like they don’t actually have a clear vision for the place. Menus look amazing!!! Just need someone that can cook it."

"My 10 year old I visited for the breakfast yesterday I honestly cannot believe the value. We had all you can eat full English, continental drinks all for under a tenner (kids eat free) amazing! When booking I'd asked for a quieter spot, against a wall (which I wasn't too confident we would as I'd heard it gets incredibly busy I'd only booked an hour before) as my son doesn't do too well in crowds, noise etc. To my delight we were taken to a perfect area the staff member gave Rhys the choice of tables.On leaving they told me I could request the same table next time I booked too Of course the food, plates, mugs kept running out, but before anybody could ask for more the staff were refilling them. It was really busy, but the staff worked like a well oiled machine. The staff were all so polite, patient, professional accommodating thank you so much! We will be back!"
