Had a couple of lovely dinners here, food is modern pub grub and the woodfired pizzas are amazing. Beautiful setting in the lovely village, nice sized beer garden and quirky traditional decor inside. Recommend highly!

Popped in for Sunday lunch to this lovely pub. Warm welcome with friendly staff. Good menu choice and great value for money. It’s a lot bigger than it looks from outside and liked the traditional decor. Dogs welcome in the bar area.

It’s a nice old pub with traditional rustic food. There was live music in the covered beer garden on the Sunday afternoon when we went. Cute village too, parking limited but you can easily park within 100m on the surrounding streets.

A great place to pop in for a drink or a meal, where the food is superb. Some of the outside seating area is under cover, so no worries when it's raining. Very dog friendly too. Our only grumble is that its location has no dedicated parking, and you have to take your chances trying to find a parking space on the main road along with people stopping for the NESA shop next door and residents who live there.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here this afternoon. Excellent service from the young staff in a lovely dining area. Kirkstyle pie and mash was so good (photo probably doesn't do it justice! . I also managed to steal a few triple cooked fat chips (with rosemary, truffle oil, sea salt and parmesan , which were probably amongst the best chips I have ever had! Lovely sticky date and toffee pudding and coffee followed. We shall definitely return. Highly recommended for a good pub meal. Dog friendly too.

Visited for family lunch with my brother in law up from England. He was very impressed with it , proper county pub ! The pub is friendly and full of interesting decor , it also has an outside seating area which would be great in summer . The food was delicious , compliments to the chef . The staff are friendly and helpful even though it was very busy , special mention to the young waiter , who nothing was too much trouble . Also this is a dog friendly restaurant so accommodates for all visitors. Definitely worth a visit .

After driving from Aberdeen to this hotel we were told they were fully booked and we couldn’t stay in the hotel but we could be put up in the owners friends house nearby. Absolute joke. Nobody contacted us to say this would happen. We were expected to share the house and bathroom. Basically we got bumped for customers staying more than one night or she was getting more money for her room. Very unscrupulous tactics and we didn’t stay. Be very wary booking this place. The owner appears ruthless and will leave you without anywhere to stay. Poor show

Driving through Dunning on our way from Stirling to Perth, we passed the Kirkstyle Inn and their sign advertising Proper Coffee caught our eye. We love our coffee, with a preference for filtered /pour over but have discovered that it's now rare to find anywhere serving this. We were curious, so decided to check this out. It's a lovely cosy place with loads of character that's not faked. It's a proper country pub/inn. There was a log burner at each end of the room at the front and various sized tables for dining. A hidden gem with lots of character , excellent friendly staff, delicious food and a super cosy and comfortable room for us all. We booked last minute after stumbling across a deal on itison. I wasn’t sure if they would be able to accommodate a family of four and our little dog but the lady (I think Anita) was very helpful and friendly on the phone so we booked in for the night. Upon arrival we were taken over to our room. It was very spacious and comfortable. Enough room for us all for the night. We had booked dinner and the food was fabulous all round.
