"Took a drive from La Rochelle to Ile de Re and we had difficulty finding a restaurant that was not full, probably due to school half-term holidays by the number of children out and about. We were very fortunate to stumble on this fabulous restaurant...and although we had not pre-booked, we were welcomed very warmly and shown to a little table overlooking the terrace. The sun was shining onto our table and the owner very kindly opened up a large umbrella on the terrace to shield us from the heat of the sun. I enjoyed a glass of Ricard [eur3.50] and my partner a Jupiler Demi [eur4.00] and a VR Vouvray Perruc [eur6.00]. My partner chose a starter of 6 x Huitres de L'ile [eur9.50]. He chose the Foie de Veau as his main course [eur23.00] and I chose the Gambas Grillees [eur24.00] served on a bed of absolutely delicious risotto, cooked to perfection with a wonderful addition of finely sliced leeks in the rice. My partner chose Ganache for dessert [eur8.50] and I chose the Figs with Chantilly [eur8.50]. We finished with 2 x Grand Creme [eur8.00]. The total bill was eur95 15% service. A stunningly good restaurant with excellent staff and service and I strongly recommend it. Just wish it was in England!!"

"We arrived at three, at about 3pm in a rather cool time. we installed ourselves inside to warm us and take a good hot chocolate after 10 km his bike. And there unfortunately we. ouf says of a tone that I judged very dry: "I hope you don't want all 3 a chocolate because there won't be enough for everyone." ah ben so precisely, given the time we wanted a chocolate! We don't take fruit juice or cocktails when it rains! Anyway, astonishing for a tea room...We left without taking anything and seeing the welcome frankly no desire to come back despite a really nice decor."

"The producers of this cabin offer a tasting of their products. You can choose from oysters, mussels, clams or shrimp. You can eat inside or on the terrace, overlooking the parking lot and the marshes. The place is peacefully secluded in the middle of the salt marshes in an oyster farming setting, without frills, in its own juice.... The welcome is very friendly despite a large crowd this Sunday. You can also buy oysters to take away. The products are fresh, quality and the kir is very good, just like the white wine. I find the prices a little high compared to the quantities but nothing very different, overall, from the other cabins on the island. We had a great time. The hot oysters are really excellent but 3 is too few.... It 's a nice place, very rėthė , for a midday stop for cars and bikes. Just a note: certain dishes like mussels deserve a side dish... I 'll let you guess which one....once!"

"Surly reception, waited for 20mins at my seat for the waiter to come over after attending to others who arrived after me: i nodded, I gestured politely..but seemed I had my invisibility cloak on..wait, Im waiting to give them my cash (no cc ..nah, I called another oyster place which had a table for me w. wonderful service food..Re Ostrea did me a favour that day. I had come the previous week and dined v around 11am I was the one of two customers so had a good experience. Though the no.2 oysters were the size of my palm (have pics! ..just too big. With so many oyster places on the island and views galore all round, no need to support bad service just to sit and look at the ocean!"
