"Having been to the restaurant next door a few times we thought we would try out the new bistro, and we were not disappointed. The dining room is large and tastefully decorated, the view across the Dordogne valley is stunning, and although it was busy, the acoustics were such that you could still hold a conversation at a normal level. There are two menus, menu of the day €18 (3 fixed courses) or a la carte €27 (choice of around 6 options for each course). The food was fresh, pleasing to the eye and the palette and just a little bit different from the usual restaurant fayre. The gazpacho of cucumber with coconut, curry and prawns was delicious, as was my green and white asparagus tempura. Main course we opted for the dourade, which came on a bed of salsa accompanied by a wonderfully soused fennel slaw and piped aioli en croute. We did order a side of frites which we thought were needed. The cafe gourmand had a nice selection of desserts, just right to finish off the meal. The service was very good, attentive but not too fussy.Don't be decieved by the bistro tag, if you are expecting cheap and cheerful food with a carafe of wine for €10 you will be disappointed. This is an excellent RESTAURANT with restaurant prices, adding on drinks will bring the price up to around €35 - €40 per head, but in my opinion you get what you pay for.Highly recommended.Only open Monday to Friday lunchtimes"

New restaurant, same owners as La Tour de Vents. The food was very nice, you have an option of choosing between two kind of menus, one of 17€ the other of 26€, both itch out drinks. The vies were excellent, the place is very big, but for my opinion a bit unpersonal and cold. In general a good experience.

we had a nice lunch break, good food, great view and ok service. eating is excellent and at 30€ appropriate for the standard of food. the dining room itself has a fantastic view over the valley towards bergerac, and the tables are positioned to make...the best of it. the service was ok, not very smiley and if I'm honest, I felt a little snucky. Anyway, I would recommend it for a nice relaxing lunch. Visualizza piatti

I believe this is a new addition to La Tour des Vent which is right next door to this newly renovated building. The food was as good in quality as the Michelin star restaurant and I even thought it was the same chef but the staff said not. There are several menu choices from the menu du jour at €17 and a larger choice menu at €26 where you can mix and match from both menus. Excellent food, excellent service and a nice informal atmosphere. Thank you for making it an enjoyable birthday treat. Merci beaucoup a tous.

As the name suggests, this new restaurant is a Bistro not a Michelin 2* restaurant as is Le Tour de Vents so we were not disappointed. It compared favourably with other Bergerac restaurants both for price and flavour but surpassed anywhere else locally because of the view. We visited on a lovely sunny day and could see for miles over Bergerac and beyond. I would recommend booking a window table as they go very quickly. We had the basic 17 euro menu which included 3 set courses but not wine and coffee. It was delicious but not large portions and beautifully presented. I will certainly go back but beware they only open at lunch time at the moment.

I wrote a review soon after this opened and I wasn 't impressed, but what a change, we have been here twice either side of Christmas. It is a bistrot but the food quality was really excellent our last two visits and at least two of...our party are quite picky eaters but even they ate everything up and we were all delighted and will be back very soon. They have improved the decor, a much more interesting selection of food. There is a 'menu du jour ' around 14€, and a carte for 28€, we chose the carte, not that there wasn 't anything wrong with the menu du jour, I had a superb soup with a poached egg and sliced truffles, a 'house ' burger with real chip and an excellent chocolate desert. It to... Visualizza piatti

This new bistrot is next door to and is owned by La Tour des Vents. The format is, i believe, very different from it's Michelin starred neighbour. The bistrot is open Mondays to Fridays for lunch only. The main menu is à la carte and has a selection of three starters, three main courses and various deserts and a cheese plate. The price of this menu is €26 plus wine and coffee. Each day there is a daily menu "l'Ardoise" which offers a single starter, single main course and single desert. The cost of the daily menu is €17 plus wine and coffee. Three of us ate the daily menu whilst the fourth person ate the €26 menu. We all found the food to be of good quality and very tasty. The service was re...

With the new owner's from Trémolat having taking over we thought the new bistro (created from an old Dance hall) would match their other one in Trémolat. It doesn't! A huge lack of choice, 4 options one being the 'plat de jour' so if you didn't happen to like, tripe sausage, octupus or foie-gras, foorget it. The menu is very limited so if you deviate in one course you get each plate charged individually and pay big time. Portions are minuscule, my 'main' course of cod was smaller than a cigarette packet, with a smudge of carrot puree and 6 slices of other funny coloured carrots and some foam, and charged 18€ for that 1 plate. This place is a rip off! you can eat far better and for far less m...

"How to say... The Bistrot de Malfourat is often associated with the Michelin-starred restaurant La Tour des Vents. From then on we expect a formula which, we can well imagine, will not be of the quality of a Michelin star but will have the concern for requirements and quality. Many starred chefs also engage in this type of dual proposition (e.g. Olivier Nasti and a winstub brasserie opposite his starred restaurant in Kaysesberg). Well unfortunately that’s not the case. The tone is set from the entrance where a hanger rack is placed for your changing rooms, we will note the mismatched hangers (we will understand later the reason for this hanger rack). The toilet area is opposite the entrance and a wedge is placed under the door, allowing access to the amenities to be seen. Entrance into the room, the very large room, with a podium at the back. The immediate impression of coming to a big wedding meal, you almost want to look for the bride 's table. But no, it 's a Bistrot . But by what intellectual magic could those in charge of the establishment imagine the name “Bistrot” for this? (they type Bistrot in Google image). Here I feel a little fooled. So, here we are, let 's continue. We are seated at a low table. Yes, a coffee table?! To have a drink with friends in the cozy lounge of a large hotel, yes. But there, a coffee table in a restaurant, placed in a large room? I kindly ask if it is possible to change, but unfortunately no normal tables are available. The view is superb, dominating Bergerac. I look around me, immediately noticing our neighbors ' bench, assembled plywood sheets, stained, on which cushions are placed. Summary. In order to break this feeling of a large party room, some privacy screens between guests are placed, iron shelves on which green plants are placed, the plants are very, very tired... it hurts the heart for them. I opened up about it to the restaurant reception, the young woman explained to me that it was the return, after a vacation, and therefore the plants had not been maintained or watered. I can tell that she is sorry, but this is the responsibility of management. Now that you know that we are dealing with a large village hall, I will let you imagine the acoustics. There are a few panels placed on the ceiling to limit the resonance, but in vain. Do you remember the school canteen, the noise? We are not very far there anymore. As if that wasn 't enough, the desire to impose a disco-type sound background for what I remembered, I thought the moment we were going to push the tables to the sides to make room for the dancers. Well we were there to eat, the dishes were pleasant without being transcendent, nothing to say on this point, neither ecstasy nor disappointment. Wine. We are in Monbazillac, an emblematic place like so many others in France for the love of wine. First glass offered, a dry white wine from the region, round, very pleasant to drink, very satisfied. To accompany a dish I choose a Riesling (German). By the glass. But in fact I discovered that it is not really in the glass, it is in a capsule bottle, dosed for one glass. I 'm going to pass for a reaction , but what the hell is this... it 's level 0 of a wine service. The wines cannot be stored correctly, the waiter does not have the hand for any generosity. I want to understand that business is business, but there... The result was not long in coming, the wine was very average. I add that it frothed slightly, but this was due to a rather rapid dive, I think. So there you have it, a big disappointment. The staff did their best, we know how difficult it is to recruit. I 'll go to the Starry Tower of the Winds later, we 'll see. But please, gentlemen responsible for the establishment, do not call it Bistrot, and do not associate it with your gourmet restaurant. Choose your path, but not this improbable thing."
