"Fantastic restaurant. Really easy to reserve a table online and a fantastic view from the restaurant over the bay. We had a great selection of whisky to choose from, with a detailed guidebook explaining each option. We really enjoyed sipping various whiskeys and comparing notes whilst waiting for lunch a throughly good past-time! Lunch was excellent too, as was the customer service."

"The exterior of the place is simple and unassuming, while the interior maintains a modest vibe. However, there's nothing ordinary about the diverse and intriguing menu, which offered many dishes I had never tried before. The staff took the time to explain the menu and provide recommendations, and despite the bustling atmosphere, our food arrived promptly. At one point, although we didn’t feel like we were waiting long, a waiter came over to sincerely apologize for the wait and informed us that our food would be ready in just three minutes. I was astonished by this level of service, which I hadn’t even experienced in some top-tier restaurants. We ordered the Islay special tandoori, and it was excellent. Overall, I highly recommend this place. If you find yourself in Bowmore, make sure to give it a try!"

"Located inside the Islay House hotel. This restaurant serves up top quality meals using only locally sourced ingredients and makes every item fresh to order. The menu changes depending on seasonal offerings and the head chef has zero problem with special requests. We opted for the rare steak salad and seafood chowder as starters and were blown away by the taste, presentation and fair pricing. For our main dishes, we both chose the pan-seared salmon. It was cooked to perfection and served atop a mound of mashed potatoes, a sprinkling of peas and came with a dozen mussels. Amazing. For dessert, the creme brûlée was divine; I would bathe in it if I could. The restaurant is open every day of the week and is open to both hotel guests and non-guests alike. The dining room is set inside the quaint hotel, built in 1677 and is served by candlelight. In other words, you won't find a better ambience."
