"Booked on 8th Oct for Festive menu due to weather arrived 4 40 pm checked in then waited in bar. Lady arrived to tell me my booking was to late for festive menu.! And that I had booked A la Carte Service. Food and service was good but should have either cancelled my booking rather than say I had made mistake when booking although both staff members knew booking was for Festive menu.Final insult had drink in bar area after meal rather than move as cold night. Wanted 2nd drink bar till was closed at 9.30 although restaurant was open till 11 I believe. Spent in region of £130. Very disappointed. We arrived at 5:10pm for our 5pm booking, unfortunately it wasn’t possible to get us seated until 540pm. Front of house member of staff was excellent kept us fully updated. I booked a birthday lunch for my husband. We both ordered filet steak the steak I got definitely was not filet. My husband steak was delicious but mine was fatty it was not nice. Disappointing birthday meal. Our waitress was not helpful or happy.. the toilets had a smell of sick in them and no toilet roll..
