"Despite booking through our premier banking service (who incidentally used a German Speaking agent) and checking the day before arrival that our booking was secured, we arrived to be met by an extremely rude manager who denied all knowledge of the booking (subsequently, Barclays have...checked the recorded telephone booking confirmation and both times the manager accepted the booking). We showed the manager the e-mail confirmation , but again were met with a stony faced refusal to admit the booking and no inclination to accommodate our party of After trawling around all the restaurants in Monschau we were finally accepted into the Pizza restaurant in the square who seemed to be the only restaurant that wanted to serve people. We were extremely dissatisfied with Monschau, we were even refused access to the beer museum/bar for a beer due to us having not booked (for a beer! Please be aware that Monschau is not good for turning up off spec. Please make sure you book in advance and check again with the restaurant yourself to avoid our disappointment."

Not to be missed if you are in Monschau. It is the highlight in regards to mustard. It is all about the Mustard. However, VERY SLOW SERVICE. With only tables. The waiter has the power to ruin the experience

Very friendly, it took a while for the food to come, but it was delicious. My Dad had lamb curry and said it was delicious and he wanted to come here again. All 3 of my sisters had cheese spätzle and they said it was great. Overall, it was great food and we want to come here again. By Charlotte aged 8

Characteristic restaurant with a lot of charm. Most of dishes have mustard, as it is very typical in the area. Unfortunately they don't have the menu in English maybe they don't have so many foreigner clients but the waiters are helpful : They have some...veggie options! Das Essen war wie immer gut, aber die Kellnerin hat es nicht hinbekommen auch nur einmal zu Tisch zukommen ohne einen. Löten Spruch zu bringen. Beim abräumen des Hauptgangs kam die Frage ob wir denn noch ein Dessert haben möchten. Just on the edge of Monschau this family run restaurant provides an extensive menu for meat lovers to vegan. Home cooked meals many have the little twist of flavour as they produce and sell their own mustard, so there is a theme. Superb food with...professional staff and excellent service, if you’d like help translating the menu just ask. Advisable to book ahead. Picturesque setting and an opportunity to buy excellent preserves and mustard from the shop attached. Desserts, just have one.. be your own judge

I knew that our chances of getting a table would be slim on a Sunday of a holiday weekend, but I thought it was worth a try. There was a table for five (my party's size) in the outside-seating area, and the hostess said we...could take it. Not more than five minutes after we sat down (around she told us the kitchen was closed "no more food The sign outside the restaurant said that the hours were So either they weren't prepared for a holiday weekend crowd, or they arbitrarily close the kitchen when the kitchen staff wants to. Either one is unacceptable. On the up side, the mustard, wine, and spirits shop on the property is well worth a visit.
