With my distant german relations we enjoyed a course menu with an accapella group between courses. So good singing in both english and german with good food served in gemutlich surroundings. One should like mustard for this set menu although it was possible to...vary the menu

na een aantal jaren maar weer eens geprobeerd vermoedelijk andere eigenaar en/of kok,hadden beiden medallions met salade en pasta het was erg droog en niet weg te krijgen de helft laten staan en een klacht gegeven resultaat de rekening werd gehalveerd wij komen hier nooit meer terug

The restaurant is not very large but serves excellent food with a variety of traditional dishes at reasonable prices. The service was excellent and very friendly giving you time to consider the various options. It is a popular restaurant in the area and if possible...advisable to book

Since this is situated in an ancient mustard mill, most dishes contain some exotic mustard in one way or other. I happen to love mustard and so it's a nice twist. Portions are ample but the price is a bit high for this part of Germany. Quality is good though, distracting from the slightly grumpy service. Vegetarian options are limited and there's only a handful of wines offered by the glass, which is a shame.

We had this place in mind from day one ! We already visited the shop and the wine cellar at the by now famous Monschauer Senf Mühle. The restaurant is nice and the food is very good! However the Kaese Spaetzle were missing a bit...of flavor. The highlight was the kids choice for 0 eur ! I've never seen this before see picture ! The service is prompt, friendly and professional! This place is definitely a good choice in Monschau! And you can always enjoy some delicatessen shopping at the mustard mill just across the parking! Enjoy! Ps. I knew that our chances of getting a table would be slim on a Sunday of a holiday weekend, but I thought it was worth a try. There was a table for five my party's size in the outsideseating area, and the hostess said we...could take it. Not more than five minutes after we sat down around she told us the kitchen was closed no more food. The sign outside the restaurant said that the hours were So either they weren't prepared for a holiday weekend crowd, or they arbitrarily close the kitchen when the kitchen staff wants to. Either one is unacceptable. On the up side, the mustard, wine, and spirits shop on the property is well worth a visit

Despite booking through our premier banking service who incidentally used a German Speaking agent and checking the day before arrival that our booking was secured, we arrived to be met by an extremely rude manager who denied all knowledge of the booking subsequently, Barclays have...checked the recorded telephone booking confirmation and both times the manager accepted the booking. Auf das „Schnabuleum“ wurden wir durch einen Bericht im Radio (SWR 3) neugierig. Der Gastraum in Obergeschoss, erreichbar über eine Holztreppe, ist sehr schön eingerichtet und ist durch eine große Fensterfront und Möbelierung hell. Die Tische sind sehr schön eingedeckt. Das Essen wird aus regionalen Zutaten zubereitet, Verwendung findet der Senf aus der Senfmühle, der gegenüber auch käuflich zu erwerben ist. Kleinere aber sehr gute Speisekarte.
