What a gem of a place. Probably the best meal we've ever had. The restaurant is small and personal with excellent service and a fantastic chef

6 of us had a meal here last night and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I have ever had . My scallops and sword fish were cooked to perfection. Everyone really enjoyed their meals . Really welcoming and helpful staff and very reasonably priced . I couldn’t fault it . Perfect .

A wonderful menu with of course many fish dishes, but also excellent Steak and lobster. Pevensey is only 8 minutes by train from Eastbourne, but is well worth the trip. Tonight was a perfect evening for G&T in the tropical garden before dinner. Certainly well worth a visit for authentic local fish in beautiful surroundings. Visualizza piatti

Once again we had the most delicious meal but it was ruined by a “gentleman” and partner who had 5 beers and other drinks and at least 3 free bread runs,! He then went on to say that his meal was ****, veg frozen and other stuff! You are a cheapskate, liar and someone who gets something for nothing! You ate all your food, you r nothing but a miserable git that gets something for nothing! Next time u will wear the curry sauce!,

We identified the restaurant on the internet and found local accomodation which was a secondary consideration to good seafood. We were very impressed with attentive but not invasive attention from the staff, Mussels were delicious as was the Calimary. The sea bass my wife had was in her opinion the best ever prepared headless as requested, I chose Halibut for the first time and was very impressed with it served with prawns and rice . Wish it was nearer and open more often and we would visit regularly. The Mungers.

What a VERY odd experience. Having checked it out from its own website, decided to try a Friday lunch. The website said lunch would be available on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I called the relevant number. A disembodied voice answered with a vague “Hello?” “Is that Simply Seafood?” “It is”. “Have you a table for 2 for Friday lunch?” “We don’t do lunch. Well, we do. But not until...until...until...” “Well, your web site says you do lunch”. “Yes” “So, to be clear, your website says you serve lunch, but you actually don’t?” “That’s right” “Well, thanks. Right. Went on a Thursday night, ate in the conservatory. A nice warm welcome when we arrived and taken to our table. Drinks were served quickly. It’s very relaxed and informal, more like being at a friends house for dinner. I heard others asking for certain things to be done and nothing was too much trouble. The Squid starter was the best I’ve ever had and the Fish and chips delicious! Nice vine growing in the conservatory adds a nice touch. This is in no way a negative, just my personal preference, some nice craft ales would be nice, the local Long Man brewery sell great beers to go with local fish. The 2 ladies who served us were both very pleasant.

We wanted a restaurant to take parents too local to Polegate and with little walking involved. After studying the menu we decided on Simply Seafood in Westham and it was perfect. The restaurant is only open at certain times during the week and would be best to book. It is smallish but beautifully decorated with two different dining areas, the conservatory although we did eat there, overlooked a nicely kept garden. We had a mixture of dishes, Scallops, Prawns, Goats cheese, Gunard, Dover Sole and Steak all cooked to perfection and presented nicely. The staff were attentive but not intrusive to our conversations. We would thoroughly recommend this lovely eatery to others.

This is a lovely bijou restaurant, food and service is excellent. Even the meat is excellent, which for a fish restaurant is a bit special. Lucy on the front of house is lovely, runs around a lot but is lovely in making sure you are well looked after. We were not rushed, in fact we were in there for over two hours, so really relaxed. My only (less than positive) point would be the desserts are bought in. This is not a problem in itself as the kitchen is small and the chef is an excellent meat and fish cook. My point is they (the ones we had and looked at) are not to the same quality as the starters and main course. You do only pay £2.00 for the extra course but personally I would pay a littl...
