This was my first time visiting this restaurant, despite being a local. The atmosphere was pleasant, but the interior was not very cozy. My daughter ordered the "big BERT" and found the bacon to be extremely overcooked and dry, making it difficult to cut. (She used to work as a waitress and is too polite to...)

My wife and I have dined at this restaurant many times and we always receive a warm welcome from the owners and staff. They are all wonderful. There is a great variety of beers and wines to choose from, catering for everyone's tastes. The food is consistently delicious, reasonably priced and the portions are generous. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We adore the unique interior design and laid-back atmosphere. What's not to love..!

We decided to pop I to try the new lunch menu as we were told the chef has changed. The vegan option felt disappointing, unfortunately. The non- vegan sourdough toast/bagel options come with eggs. The vegan option is simply vegetables on toast. Although it tasted fine, there was nothing replacing the egg's protein and fat. Therefore, I was pretty hungry shortly after leaving. When one pays £10 for lunch, it is frustrating to leave hungry. It would help to have some source of protein and fat added to the meal, e.g.: Tofu; hummus; beans; lentils; pesto; nuts.
