"Disappointing lunch. The £18 beef burger was served with a measly piece of lettuce and tomato and a few bits of raw red onion plus a portion of basic fries. If I wanted any extras such as cheese it would have cost me £3.50 each! The fish and chips were good. One member of staff was particularly friendly. The others were not. I requested the bill and a card machine with a total of £45 was shoved in front of me. I questioned it as it seemed high (fish and chips, burger and chips, half a cider and a coke). Finally after having the various amounts shouted at me across the bar the member of staff remembered that 10% service charge had been automatically added. Would not recommend this place at all. We enjoyed a hearty beef and ale pie and “fish chips” in very pleasant surrounds with caring and engaging staff. Highly recommend.

Good food at a reasonable price but it's the staff are the real deal breakers. They were all so friendly and welcoming whenever we visited. Our go-to pub on a recent short break in Burford. A very pleasnt experience. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
